Treading

I stood strong towards the sea,
Nothing is going to break me,
Waves crash around my soul,
Standing tall, I remain whole,

Holding my breathe, I stand
reaching, I hold out my hand,
In both my lungs, water grips,
Crawling out while my body drips,

The cove is dark, I have found my serenity,
The blackout sensation lasts an eternity,
For long days, do I cry,
It looks like the end is nigh,

I see the light, I need to dive,
I keep treading with the will to survive.
