Chapter 8: Boys Meet Girls

Ok so I decide to skip the uncle Mel episode since Emily already knows of uncle Mel so I'm skipping to boys meet girls (hence the title) anyway hope you all enjoy and sorry for the wait 😢

Emily's POV
I finally wake up before the rest of my family seriously does no one ever sleep? Anyway I begin my morning routine trying not to wake up teddy and my phone goes off. Lucky for me teddy is a heavy sleeper.

'So much for everyone sleeping'

'Hey so I was wondering if you wanted to meet up in the library with Me, Sophie and Dylan since there doing a project on art and design I thought they could help us with the menu of our project Y'know the visuals?'
'Yeah sure but I thought those two had gone back to collage?'
'They have but they've got a free day today'
'Ok wanna meet up at 11 then? Oh and have you started the Maths homework yet I swear that teacher sends us 5 pages a week'
'It's more like 8 pages a week and I was about to start it tonight wanna join me?'
'Sounds like a plan. In that case I'll meet you at the library at 11'

I decide to get a head start on the homework for an hour before packing my bag for the library and going upstairs and into the kitchen hearing dad
"And next year you can vote"
I then walk into the kitchen
"Who can dad?"
He then smiles
"Doesn't matter sweetie. Oh PJ my friends opening up a new chicken restaurant and he needs a delivery man"
PJ replies instantly
"Dad you already have a job"
I laugh before answering
"He meant for you bro"
PJ then turns to dad
"thanks but I'm already booked solid between school, the band and our snack competitions I can't do it all I'm just one guy."
Dad then pulls out a card
"One guy who delivers chicken"
Dad then walks over to the counter where emmet is sat
"Hey emmet if you want I can try and get you a job"
Emmet shrugs
"Oh no thanks Mr. D I already have a job"
dad looks sceptical
"doing what"
"oh my dad pays me to stay out of the house. I'm working right now"
I raise an eyebrow before shrugging and checking my watch
'That can't be right'
"Hey dad what time is it?"
Dad then shrugs
"10:45 Why"
my eyes widen
'Ok so it was right'
"Damn it I'm late!"
Dad then asks
"late for what"
I then grab my jacket bag keys and helmet before shouting back
"Library"
'Good job I packed everything earlier'
I then put on my helmet and jacket and make my way to the library

*Time skip*

When I get home around 4 hours later I see Gabe basically run into the kitchen with a hat on and head down as mom asks
"Hey honey how was school"
he replies
"Good"
and then enters the kitchen
'Wait a minute'
I then follow teddy into the kitchen as she asks gabe
"Why are you wearing your hat like that?"
Gabe then goes into the freezer hat still on
"No reason it's how I roll"
He then goes to walk past us but I take the hat off of his head to reveal a black eye teddy then asks
"God Gabe what happened"
he hesitates
"um Charlie and I were playing patty cake and things went bad"
I roll my eyes
"Alright sit and don't lie to me"
gabe's and teddy's eyes widen as teddy whispers
"she went Big sister mode"
Gabe nods and sighs
"there's this new kid in my class joe something"
teddy then goes to grab an ice pack
"poor thing why do the big kids always pick on the little kids?"
I say nothing silently trying to contain my rage as teddy grabs an ice pack but Gabe interrupts her
"Isn't that the ice pack dad puts on his butt"
teddy drops it shouting
"Ewww"
she then picks up another but Gabe comments again
"Or was it that one?"
Either way it is also dropped
"Ewww"
before she reaches for the bag of broccoli
"Dad hates broccoli right?"
Gabe then interrupts
"which is why he would put it on his-"
"Ewww"
Mom then walks in and Gabe walks out and up to his room so I follow.
