"That'll be all, your honor. I hope you take my points into account and let justice be established like how it should be."

Ow. Kim Haneul felt an excruciating pain on the back of her neck. She tried to massage her neck to free herself from the pain but of course, it isn't going to be of any use. Her neck starts hurting whenever she's really sleepy.

One more trial left today. The one which is the cause of the sleepless nights. Didn't sleep for 4 days while working on it.

Even though she always strives to cheer herself up mentally, in the end she gets knocked out no matter what. Being a prosecutor can be very stressful. With the mountain of cases piling up one after another, her day never ends.

But catching criminals and throwing them behind bars has a different kind of thrill to them. At the end of each day, tiredness engulfs her entire body but still she never seems to get used to her job. It's like that, every day means something new, something unique. Some new criminal comes her way for her to catch them. That's what keeps her going on.

1:27 pm. Time for lunch. All that arguing had gotten her famished and Haneul would just wonder how talking made her this hungry considering the fact that she had eaten right before the trial. Sometimes even Haneul couldn't understand her own body.

"Kim Haneul! Come sit with us." She cocked her head to the side and saw that the voice belonged to none other than Kang Jaeson, a senior of hers and a very good person. He was a simple and caring guy, like a big brother. That's why everyone liked him. Everyone felt comfortable in his presence. And the annoying guy just had to be sitting next to him today, Kwon Hojin.

Haneul sported a bright smile and stroded towards their table. Couldn't exactly do anything about the fact that Hojin was there. He probably saw some girl on his way here.

"Ah Haneul, looking gorgeous as always," Hojin said with the most cheesy smile ever, made her want to throw up every time. Anyone could've read the disgust on her face by seeing that painful smile except for that jerk.

In reality, other than this habit, Hojin was actually a pretty decent lawyer. If only his annoying ass didn't get in the way, maybe people would like him even more.

And that's why probably Jaeson smacked his head, earning a groan from him. "Will you stop with the disgusting flirting? You make everyone uncomfortable." Haneul sighed in relief. She almost had decided to turn on her heels and leave but Jaeson intervened at the right moment.

Hojin winced in pain. "Hey now, I didn't. Did I make you uncomfortable Haneul?" He looked at her as if he was the most innocent guy.

Haneul almost scoffed because of the look on his face but held it back. "Not really. But I think it would be better if you don't say things that could have double meaning. Rumors spread quite easily you see," she said calmly, hoping that some sense finally gets into him.

"Okay okay, I'll stop." With that he finally stopped talking and went back to eating. Haneul shook her head knowing that it was going to take him a lot of time before he can actually stop.

San's breath hitched as he ran through the hallways of the prosecutor's office. He was running late as he had to attend a proxy class. He didn't want to waste another moment as he had to find out.

Jaeson, his friend, also senior from college, always told him stories from his work and that's how he came to know about a certain Kim Haneul, who was new in the field but a fierce one. San wasn't sure if she was her but as soon as the name rolled of Jaeson's tongue, he knew he had to find out for himself. If it really was the girl who was the unsung inspiration behind who he was right now, seven years ago.

San had seen Haneul, very recently in a flower shop. He was picking out carnations for his mother's birthday when she walked in. Light footsteps rang in his ears to which he didn't pay any heed at first. But the sweet smell of vanilla, which had been a reassurance in the times of darkness made him glance at the trail from where it was coming.

Their eyes met for a very brief instant, but he knew those eyes, the same beautiful hazel eyes that intrigued him more than it should've. San had always watched her from afar after he found out they went to the same school. There was just something about her that had always enticed him.

She left shortly after, not finding the flowers, Irises, that she was looking for. He had noticed the faint dismay that had taken over her delicate features, a small furrow formed between her brows.

It's her. He muttered under his breath. After seven long years of searching, he had found her but couldn't say anything as he wasn't sure as to exactly what he should say. Because she had already left before he could do anything.

San panted as he stood at the entrance of the cafeteria. His eyes scanned the room as he searched for the familiar face in the midst of several others. As he looked to his left, his eyes fell upon the table where his Jaeson, along with a girl were sitting. Her long black hair glistening under the lights was something that stood out from everyone else. Something that he couldn't overlook from their very first meeting. Even though she wasn't facing him, he knew it was her. A soft sigh of relief left his lips. He knew this was the start of something new.

"Hey Jaeson, I'm so sorry I'm late. Bad traffic." Haneul glanced up to see where that trail of voice came from. A guy came wearing a suit, with his blazer in his hand and sat on the chair beside Jaeson.

His dark midnight colored locks, looked like it was very recently washed. Soft and shiny. Kind of made her want to touch it. He looked at her with his deep, beautiful eyes which seemed so...familiar.

"San!! Finally. I thought you weren't gonna come," Jaeson said with after gulping down the food that was in his mouth.

San...?

"Haneul, this is my friend. Say hi." Jaeson beamed as he introduced San to Haneul.

"San, she's a prosecutor too, like me." San nod and glanced at her. Even though it was brief, it seemed as if he knew her from way before. Weird.

"Ah yes. Hello, I'm Kim Haneul," she outstretched her hand with a friendly smile. San shook it briefly mirroring her expression, looking right into Hansul's eyes. He has a beautiful smile.

"Hi, my name's Choi San."
