She felt nothing. Black abyss surrounded her.

Eating her from the inside.

She was suffering.

She knew Midnight was there.

And she knew Midnight had to be stopped.

Even at the cost of her own life.

Worthless little life.

"Look at me! You have been going on for days. Trying to fight me. Verbally and Physically. But look at me. You haven't been able to lay a single scratch. While you two are sweating your butts off. You don't have to do this. You don't have to fight me. We're on the same side, don't you see? Just, give me your miraculous. Both of you."

"Never *pant* we're not doing that." Chat huffed.

"WHY CAN'T YOU SEE?" She roared.

"All I want is to make it seem like this never happened," she said, pointing to all of her, "but you don't understand! I want to do this for you, Adrien." She smiled.

"A-Adrien?" Ladybug (Alya) gasped.

She took a look at him then her. Then him again.

"I swear if you're the reason for her being like this, I-" Alya started to threaten Chat.

"Alya, stop. It's not his fault. He was blind to my feelings. All along. Why should I regret it now? Marinette was stupid. She didn't confess soon enough. She had to be me to do that. This was always meant to be." Midnight, referring to herself again, smirked.

"Mari, please! Stop! You're Ladybug. Without you, Paris-"

"Get that filthy name off of your tongue. Ladybug, Ladybug, LADYBUG! All I hear is Ladybug! How would you feel, Alya, if  Nino was in love with Rena Rouge but not you? That he kept turning the real you down to pursue the mask? Tell me. Won't you feel shattered? Broken? Devastated!?" Midnight spat.

"I-"

Midnight winced again. This time, more painfully.

"You brat! Stay put!" She mumbled angrily while violently cussing.

Ladybug closed Chat's innocent ears.

A vortex formed on her stomach as she groaned in pain. Shouting. Screaming. Swearing.

But she was able to close it.

The superheroes weren't even able to touch her.

"Let's go, Chat!"

They fought again and again. All the while, Midnight smirked triumphantly as she dodged their weakened attacks flawlessly.

"All of your pitiful groans and sorrowful tears are like music to my ears. Please continue. It's like a melody.
A song.
This has to be my fight song.
This is my fight song."

The fight dragged on for seven whole days.

The seventh one being a certain cat's last day.

Perhaps?

She smirked again as she fought against the duo, knocking Alya to the ground where she now lay unconscious. She removed the earrings only to see a miserable looking Tikki.

The Marinette inside of her started to cry and she fought. Harder than she ever had before.

Trying to gain control again.

If it were only for a few seconds, then so be it.

At least Tikki would be able to fly with the miraculous.

Midnight knew that she wouldn't last long. So, she had to complete what she started quickly.

She held Chat Noir by his hand over the Eiffel Tower's edge.

She slipped the ring off of his finger.

Marinette struggled.

Midnight retained her form.

"One more second." Midnight thought.

"Just, one more second."  Marinette thought.

Midnight dropped him.

"Ahhh!"

"CHAT!" Marinette cried as she gained control again.

She was ready to jump after him. To save him. (Adieu? Anyone?)

But was held back by a strong arm.

Alya's tear strained face and strong hands held her. Hugged her.

"Adrien" she choked on her tears.

She sobbed and sobbed.

She couldn't live like this.

She could not let him die.

She can't.

"Adrien."

"Ad- *sob* rien."

"I'm sorry. Mon Chaton."

"I'm sorry." She hit herself again and again.

Alya let her do this. So did Tikki.

She needed some alone time.

She needed to avenge her chaton.
