I sat at the same lunch table I have been sitting at for two years. Staring out the long, wide glass windows into the forest, I thought back to the third day of freshman year.

I had seen a gray wolf, it even stopped and stared at me. Seeing a wolf in this town was rare, so having one so close, was quiet the exciting experience. I had a dying urge to tell someone about it, but who? I had no friends and if I did tell someone they would mostly ignore me, laugh, or stare in shock that I actually spoke.

Living a life of silence, gave you more time to listen. You'd think I'd go crazy with all the untold secrets I've heard about my fellow classmates? But no. I'd never tell anyone. They would just bounce back with another horrible rumor about me.

I looked away from the window to everyone as they ate their food and laughed with their friends. No one gave me a single look, they simply forgot about me. I looked down at my scarred hands and sighed before standing up from my chair. I pushed the chair back in and walked pass my classmates to the lunchroom exit. Exiting, I walked up to my next class, Chemistry.

I opened the door just as the bell rang signaling the end of lunch. The room was empty of students and the teacher. Like everyday, I walked to my spot in back. When I pulled back the stool, it scratched loudly against the floor. I sat down on it and scooted forward so my waist was a few inches from touching. Resting my chin in my palm, I squeezed my eyes shut as my stomach suddenly ached painfully.

“Good afternoon Miss Beack.” Barney, the chemistry teacher said, entering the classroom, his hands holding his burgundy briefcase. Barney is quiet tall. Six feet with combed to the side blond hair and fierce pure green eyes, he is also extremely handsome. He was dressed in his usual attire. Dark blue jeans, a black dress shirt under a brown blazer. Barney was the youngest teacher here, only 23. Since he started, students, parents, and even teachers have been flirting their asses off. Barney smiled over at me as he sat down his case and walked around his desk. I gave a small grin back and closed my eyes again, sighing. Barney was used to finding me here before him.

Lucky enough, most kids in my school skipped this class, so Barney just gave the attending students a simple lab to finish by the end of class and a few follow-up questions. It couldn’t of been easier and I finished mine fast enough that I got to rest my eyes for 20 minutes. When chemistry ended, I sat through the rest of my classes, which luckily finished quickly.

Approaching my locker, I saw Mindy Carlson leaned against the locker next to mine, gossiping to her friend Chelsea who stood next to her.

"Oh my God! Penny said she saw him, like, yesterday at Marshall's, or something. He's name is, like, Ian and he's extremely hot! Like, hotter than Robert Patterson, like really, really, really hot.” Mindy gushed, fanning her self with her hand. Chelsea practically swooning next to her. Rolling my eyes at them, I proceeded to put my books in my ripped, old backpack. Exiting the school, I headed for Java Jack’s Coffee shop to finish my homework before heading home.

Inside Java Jack's Coffee Shop, I went and sat in back, giving a small wave towards Sam. He smiled back as he served a costumer, acknowledging my wave. Once my homework was done, I said goodbye to Sam and headed home, praying that Mike wouldn't be home tonight or already passed out from his high alcohol consumption. My prayers were unanswered as I noticed a black Toyota parked outside my house, next to Mike's blue Honda truck.

Hm. That isn't my dads car and I doubt that he has company, I thought to myself as walked towards the front door. Cautiously, I slowly opened it and entered. Just as cautiously, I closed it. Trying to be a silent as possible, I tip toed towards the staircase, begging for it to not squeak as I took my first step. Walking past the arch of the living room, I heard someone clear their throat. I closed my eyes tightly and stopped. I felt my insides jump in fear and continued to bubble painfully as I predicted whats to come.
