03: oops, didn't know it was fragile
Clover immediately got dressed into her usual pair of high-waisted jeans and a soft pink sweater tucked in on the front. Since the day is pretty chilly, she brought her brown coat in case it gets chillier later on. Why she's dolling herself up?
She's gonna pay detective-screw-the-flowers a good visit. This time, she'll be the one who'll bring in the flowers personally. Reason? Well, Clover Mehr is bored and she meeds some fun and nothing is funnier than Lincoln Mitch's confused face— as she says. The office is nearby due to his brother's connections— and also to spy on the famous detective in town— so she just took her bike since it's easier and more convenient that way.
She grew some flowers at the backyard so she just took some and had those other flowers she's got from the shop yesterday and arranged it. She's got this million-dollar worth smile playing on the corners of her lips. The Floras have a different ability— almost all is the same but what she had is different. And that's what made her super notorious— she leaves no trace. The ride was not that long, just three blocks away and she's there. Speeding up her bike, she arrived in ten minutes in front of the office.
"Hey, Mister, I'm here to see Mr. Mitch?"
"Were you the one who keeps on sending the flowers?"
"Uh, yes, sir. He didn't like it? Can I deliver it myself?"
With a chuckle, the guard let her in. When she got in, she saw how hot-headed detective Mitch was with the case he's handling. He's raising his voice, and what's worse? He actually cussed in the office, obviously taking Clover in surprise.
Ooooh, lover boy cussed. Nice.
"Hey detective I-never-dared-say-a-cuss-word, you seem a bit stressed." She said and walked in, getting glances from everyone in the office as his head shot up to form a smile when he saw her. "I brought flowers. But it kinda seemed like you didn't like them so I'm here to ask if, uhh, y'know, if you like them." His features softened as he looked at her.
But what caught her eyes was something she didn't expect to see on his desk. The pendant! "Ooh, this looks nice." She said as she grabbed the pendant from his table smoothly. "Shiny, shiny, shiny! Can I have this, Linc?" Lincoln Mitch got weirded out glances from his co-workers.
"You can't, Clo. That's important."
"Catch me, then, Linc." She said and ran around the office— and Lincoln bit the trap, he chased her around. She was laughing hard as the detective had a hard time catching her— or she had thought.
"Oomf!" She grunted as she bumped into someone's hard chest— Lincoln's to be exact. But she immediately pulled away to run but the unexpected thing happened. She tripped and broke the pendant. She panicked, as a bright mist appeared and then faded from the pendant.
Someone might see it transfer into something else! Shit.
She felt her wrist warm up. The magic moved to her bracelet. I hope no one noticed. She immediately stood up beside the broken pendant. "Oops, didn't know it was fragile. Sorry."
