tomorrow never came

└────── ⋆⋅☆⋅ ──────┘

we bid our goodbyes as if we were destined tomorrow for in our souls we believed we were.
what merciful god could ever take away a love so sweet, so pure?
"i'll see you tomorrow" you sang after you gently caressed my rosy cheeks before dancing your way back home.
that night i fell asleep deeply snuggled against your favorite sweatshirt, unable to last the night without your embrace while i dreamt of being awoken the next morning by your lips touching mine.
who would've ever thought one night without your embrace would suddenly turn into a lifetime.
who would've ever thought the next morning for you would never exist, and i'd have to endure an eternity of suffering without your kiss.
'i'll see you tomorrow' you said.
