Weeks later

It's been weeks since the boys left and the girls haven't been handling it well.

They talked to each other every once in a while but they have been distant lately.

Muriel was asleep in her room holding a pillow against her body, it's been her coping mechanism.
It hasn't been working though.

She was having a dream, Clyve was holding her hand as they walked through a field full of daisies and the sun shined bright, he surprised her with a picnic, they played around and everything was going great until the sky abruptly turned dark and clouds were coming in then it started to rain and thunder.

They tried to cover their heads and run out of the field but they walked into a jungle, Clyve's outfit changed into a army suit and he had a gun in his hand, other men dressed in the same attire were running and guns were firing.

Muriel grabbed his arm trying to stop him from going into the war zone but he snatched his arm away "Baby I have to go I'll be back I promise!" He shouted as he ran

She cried "Don't leave me please!" She begged

She watched him run then the worst thing happened. He was shot in the back and his body dropped.

She gasped "Clyve!" She wailed as she ran to him

Once she got to him she kneeled and held him in her arms "Baby say something please!"
She cried

He gasped "I should've listened to you... I'm sorry" with that he took his last breath

"No Clyve, please wake up!" She wailed

Muriel woke up and gasped then tears streamed down her face, she sat up and held her knees and a pillow against her chest as she sobbed.

This has been her fifth nightmare about Clyve, they always end with him getting killed.
It really scared her.

She heard a knock on her door
"come in" she muttered trying to sound normal

Her mom walked in "Oh honey, did you have a night terror again?"
She asked as she sat next to her

Muriel looked up at her mom and nodded as tears streamed down her face
"Oh sweetie, come here" her mom coo'd as she held her

She continued to cry "I miss him so much momma, I'm scared something could've happened to him he hasn't wrote me a letter or anything" She sobbed

Her mom rubbed her back "I know baby, I know, I'm sure he will contact you soon, you know how hard it is for them with no phones around" she assured

Muriel wiped her face "I'm scared momma" she muttered then they hugged

She rubbed her back soothingly "I know baby, you know you're father fought in the war"
she told
