"first" was hurt yesterday. A pretty bad memory resurfaced. She was now more certain that "second" did not hold any secret knowledge of her family. "first" had been told by those that took care of her, do not let false hopes cause you to drop your guard. Yet, some had also told her to not let the past drive a wedge between your belonging ones. The dance with "second" was her commitment to the new life.
"second" was really very disappointed in herself from yesterday, and today she found much more forgiveness than she could have hoped for. "First" had initiated a ritual of closeness. Not something commonly done any more.
"hubby" felt like they had plucked him from a crowd and landed in a remarkable dream. A little pride to be a protector of the alien Ami. To have settled a course of action which granted privacy. Feeling a little elation to be a belonger.
Ami was happy. Off of planet Wroug, she felt like life was available to her. They all looked at her with love and affection (all the Lans, but more so from these three Lans).
The points (a basis for demands) total that Ami had been gifted had reduced over night. From about one sixth of all points, Ami's balance had dropped to under one seventh of all points. Her account was setup to always return funds on request. Her balance of regard points (a basis for requests) was also still high, but those are always subject to be withdrawn by the giver.
"first", "second", and "hubby" dealt with each request for a return of points as an individual matter. They actually did return any upon every request. Things were going incredibly well.
They sorted all of their accounts and then sat Ami down to discuss point sharing and gifting. In almost every case where a Lan earns points, they give some portion away. "second" leads the discussion to involve "hubby"; because "first" has no apparent history of giving.
"hubby" suggests a sum of points which sounds quite large to "first". Almost half of her current total, but leaving a balance very much more than days ago. She should make a gift to outreach groups and add a public note 'After devoting everything to personal self-directed outreach. I have been given a belonging relationship. I will devote myself to supporting others who will, going forward, make new outreaches.'
"first" looks to "second" and gets an approving nod. "first" makes the gifts and the public statement.
"second" and "hubby" have a quick discussion about where to send her share of points. A sum much less than half, but "second" has a history of giving at above the average. This gifting would be a highest in points and the highest in relation to the gain. "second" creates a public statement that names every Lan that assisted on planet Wroug (including the office coworker elLans); but one account has gone to a secured blank portal. She sends the statement out and hopes to credit that missing Lan later.
"hubby" sends out gifts to event, writing, and art groups, and sends a largest part to child care and protection research. His public statement simply thanks all Lans for their generosity to him over his entire lifetime.
They encourage Ami to consider the matter diligently. Even take time by waiting to think through what she should do.
Ami looks into the Lan that had been held captive on Wroug. "Hubby" says we have been given many gifts, but are not making too many statements. It would make it hard to direct a gift, without knowing the need.
Ami reviews news of the strange alien that spoke with her in the park. A health cure has been recently reported, but they sealed the details (all details about the alien on both Lan and Wroug).
Ami suggests a small gift (learning by doing) to a social rescue organization. "hubby" and "second" recommend one. Ami makes the gift from the desk terminal with a public statement 'I hope any that are sad, will know the joy of supportive friends.'
Not long after making the gift, Ami gets a message from the social rescue organization. It reads like a standard form.
'We have created a self-directed portion of your gift under your name. That part will stay at your use unless a specific cause calls for it to be immediately utilized.'
Ami has the Lans surrounding her, and they seem to be un-phased. This really sounds like a kickback scheme.
"second" explains, saying: "Kick backs would be extremely dangerous, if discovered. This is not a suggestion of gifting with an expectation of return. The social cause organization is giving you a chance to direct funds. That helps them limit a risk where you would later complain about how the funds were spent."
Ami writes back to the organization and asks if they have any suggestions. She gets back two descriptions of cases (identities hidden) that they are considering and also sends Ami a list of similar causes where she might make a public statement for someone else to help.
Ami gets the support of "hubby" and "second" to review the cases. With guidance, Ami directs funds for one of the two cases and uses the request system for most of the causes. She then gets a message from the social cause organization. They are very pleased to have been a recipient of Ami's time and effort. If she needs anything, write to a particular private access portal. Their organization is known, but purposely modest. Continued public contact might create difficulties. Specifically, for rescue cases where public visibility might hinder the best results.
Ami finally gets a nice over the shoulder hug from "first". This was enough for Ami in starting out. Ami continues to learn and review thru the day ("first" seated next to her).
"hubby" and "second" walk around the apartment talking about storage and fixtures. Among other things, it might be time to arrange where clothes would be stored.
