''Yes, Andriel!''
''.Good'' He added
''Who are you and where do you come from?'' She asked.
''We are soldiers from ...''
''Shut up Ragna'' I silently shushed him, knowing that he was already enamored by the woman's beauty and elegance.
''Why don't you join us in the house? It is dangerous out here. I have enough rooms for you all.''
''Ahem!'' The captain cleared his throat intently, having caught the wind of what was about to come. ''I am sorry. That won't be necessary ma'am''.
''Andriel.'' She repeated coyly.
''Of course, Madame Andriel - we are fine here'',
His utterance immediately spurred a negative reaction among some of the soldiers so much that they began to murmur and stage excuses.
''Man, I feel so cold out here.''
''Me too. In fact, I think I am gonna get sick.''
''What a febrifacient atmosphere!''
''So lithospherically hazardous''!
''O yeah!''
''We could get bitten by any venomous creatures out here, or what do you think?''
''You can't be incorrect, Halgred''
''Keep your mouth shut, Hornsbeard. Nothing will happen to us out here.'' Hignack objected.
''You can't be too sure of that.''
''Fear not!''
''I am not afeard. I am only trying to be careful.''
''Nothing will happen to us.''
''And what if something happens?'' Another soldier cut in.
''The creator protects us.''
''Hmmm...we have to be ware, Hignak. Now that you speak of the creator protecting us, all I see here is divine providence.'' Hornsbeard insisted.
''What divine providence?'' Hignack questioned.
''Behold this angelic sylph right here and her beautiful abode! They are signs of the creator's divine providence. Perhaps, it would be profitably wise to consider them...or else!''
''Enough arguments! My decision is final. We are not leaving here!'' The captain strongly averred with his words watering down their hopes in some way and forcing them to recoil into a silent fit of sulkiness and outright moodiness.
''Are you afraid of me?'' The woman inquired.
''Nope, we are not.'' The captain replied.
''Well, it is fine- just that...uhm...Why not stay around the house at least to give us some shelter? I mean some protection just in case. ''
'That's right!'' Some soldiers echoed empathetically.
''Moreover, I know almost every place here, and I may be of help to you.'' She added.
The captain looked into my eyes to see if I had any suggestion of some sort. But I was speechless. I couldn't concentrate properly.
''No idea?''
''No idea, sir''
''Alright then, my decision remains the same: we will not leave this place and compromise this...errh...fellowship.'' He cleverly uttered, avoiding the word, mission. ''And moreover, I want to believe that before we arrived here, your family must have been surviving- I mean without us. So, I am sorry; we can't leave here.''
She looked so sad and disappointed.
As she turned to leave, we suddenly heard a high-pitched penetrating sound from a distance, resembling the cries of young girls and women in trouble.
