The Bullet Code: Digits through the Signal

My acquaintance and I found ourselves in Dain's unit when a person in black leather suit approach us and brought an envelope carrying the files we're waiting for. There are three people in the unit with the same clothes who organize the scene of crime. They must be the Director's people.

George handed a folder to me and checked the photos he extracted from another folder. He confirmed those photos by going to different places of the room. The body has been removed but it is outlined on the floor. George measured the space between cabinet and position of the feet.

He focus at the books which are remained undisturbed and as if he didn't satisfy himself yet, glance at the photo of the 'U' arrangement and the actual model itself. After pondering to it, he switched to another picture. He sought my attention to review this one.

"I think this is what they found that could pique our interest." he remarked while touching its center with his thumb.

We followed the location in which the photo was obtained. Our eyes reached the ceiling displaying the thing on the photo. It is a small-sized metal hoop fixed to the ceiling.

George blinked and pulled another folder. He scanned the papers from it 'til he stopped to the very data he was looking for. He showed to me three photos of bloody bodies who are lying face up. They aren't Dain's body but from three different people. He also spreads crime scene photos of the four casualties.

"All were shot from front except for Dain. Faces are upwards except for your late friend. Victims who are males have different heights. Dain who is the shortest among them was shot on stomach part of his back. The victim with average height was hit on waist portion. The two taller men on their front hip. The position of the shots are different in these portions, some on left, center and some on right." he explained, pointing the blood spatter shots of the corpses.

"No gun weapon found from crime scene but bullet is found inside the body. Crime happened in the units where doors are opened. The method of slaughter are all similar for the four except for differences found on Dain in terms of the body position." 

He showed to me the comparison of the interior design of rooms of the victims after their death. The interesting part of the interior design is the casualties own cabinets with books on top in U-shape, like what I found from Dain. Iyon nga lang, hindi nakuhanan ng litrato ng mga awtoridad ang kisame ng tatlong biktima kaya hindi namin mapatunayang mayroong 'hoop' ang sentro nito.

George furthermore exhibited the shots of location where the dead were found by their neighbors. Si Dain lang ang nakataob malapit sa cabinet habang pareho na ang lokasyon at postura ng iba. They were all killed near the door frame with a single fire from front except for Dain. 

Mahihinuha mong nakatayo ang tatlo paharap sa pinto at pagbukas nila nito ay may tao sa loob na nagpatama ng bala papunta sa bituka nila kaya pahiga ang naging hitsura ng kanilang katawan.

George went on, "Dain was shot on the back so he's lying face down and Dain's body is the only one found inside the unit among them. The rest of the bodies are shot on front and found outside the unit beside the opened door. Isa pang pagkakaiba ay sa apartment lamang ni Dain nagkaroon ng pagpatay ng ilaw. The rest have lights on in the apartment stairs and halls although all of the victims' rooms are dark after death, said the interview with neighbors."

George changed the photograph into a picture of bullet found on Dain before carrying on with his narrative, "Bullet is from a COP .357 Derringer, a compact size pistol with a powerful cartridge. A gun with maximum of four bullets to hold though one bullet is enough to kill a person. Bullets from three victims matched each other with the bullet found in the recent victim. Resemblance of the four are present because of this bullet, crime happening at every night-time of Saturday, no loss of properties can be gained, victims possess hip-level cabinet with books on top displayed as 'U' letter against the wall, and the doors of all victims can only be opened through pulling or in-to-out.
