But I didn't move. I can't accept my fate easily due to the incompetent police of Manila. I thought they are more compassionate than those in the province but to think about it, we have Henry and intelligent people behind our backs there while they haven't.
The people in my former place only think about themselves and their superiority among people. They feel strong because of their positions that oppress the weak. Who wouldn't feel powerful when you have the authority to do anything? When you have a weapon on your side?
Justice, who the hell needs that when you're contented that there's a man to pinpoint?
"I want to speak with an Inspector, at least. If there's SOCO or NBI, can I speak with them?"
He laughed but he looks offended by what I asked, "May gusto ka talagang palabasin, ano? Busy ang Inspector tsaka ang magulang mo na ang sasagot kung magtatanong ang NBI o SOCO, kung trip nilang tanungin ka."
"Officer, look at me." He didn't expect that I'll say that, "Does this look like a game to you?"
Perhaps I was too harsh or I hit the spot because he pulled my collar, "Inuubos mo ang pasensya ko."
Hinawakan ko ang braso niya at pilit inalis ang pagkakahawak sa akin, "Well yung sa akin Sir, hindi pa ubos. I have a lot to say but I wait for the opportunity yet you didn't give one. You didn't ask for timeframes, murder weapon and most of all, you didn't go over the facts of this case."
"Facts? Hindi pa ba sapat na ikaw ang huling nakasama ng biktima bago siya mamatay?" paninigurado niya nang may kasamang pagngisi.
"Officer Romulo, is that how you treat minors?"
The officer questioning me becomes pale when he saw the figure at my back. I was pretty sure that the deep voice sounds familiar.
"S-sir!" he stood and saluted that made me turn.
And my hunch was correct. It belongs to an acquaintance who holds a folder in his hands. If we are shocked to see each other, my mouth fell open when I saw who's beside him.
The man in company with George looks like him but I know from his clothes that he's a high ranking officer of the police force, a general perhaps. Confirming it comes with the other officers of the station saluting to him. He returned the salute with sharp facial features which is well-respected by those below him.
Magkasingtakad sila ni George and they're both a serious man, bringing sharpened gazes of bluntness they can provide in any given minute. He's a middle aged man with a clean-cut hair. No beard is visible upon him.
Isang matabang pulis ang lumapit sa kanya na kalalabas lang mula sa pinagtataguang kwarto sa loob ng istasyon, "Ano pong ipinunta niyo rito, Sir?"
George's companion regarded the newcomer, "I apologize for the sudden visit Inspector. You see, I'm here to return the files I asked before."
George gives the folder he handled to the person called as the Inspector. The latter gives a full-length smile to both, "It is always a pleasure, George and Director."
"Then, we shall go now." The Director and him exchanged salutes but before George and the so-called Director reach the door, George didn't fail to recognize someone he met before.
"Andrei," he offered a hand and I shook it, "You're quite stressed. Have you eaten?"
I nodded. I'm still full from my last food with Dain that I didn't have a chance to track the time. The open door gives a full glimpse of darkness.
"I see. In that case if you are full then I wonder why your face is frustrated," spoke George as he slowly turn to the officer I was speaking to, "Is this man mistreating you?"
