"And I will tell you this once again, You are my Celeste. No matter what that dick has to tell me, I will not abandon your side. I did not have any motivation or purpose to join this war because it was just devastation and destruction." Newt said, determination visible in his eyes. "But I choose you, I choose your side of the war. If things are going down, I choose to go down with you." Celeste gave him a watery smile.
"You have us on your side, Celeste. No matter what he does or plans, you will never be him. You will never be a Grindelwald. You are a Scamander and a Fischer, nothing he can possibly change about you." Albus said, his mouth pulled into a proud smile.
For the first time since yesterday, Celeste felt hopeful and confident. Maybe this situation was not as lost as she believed it to be and she can definitely get through this.
After two hours, Celeste and Newt found themselves at the door of their beautiful house. Celeste looked at Newt, squeezing his hand to gain some reassurance before letting out a puff of breath.
"Hey, it is going to be alright. I know it is going to be tough, but as Albus said, use this as your advantage. Change how the world will look at you, but I doubt it will even look at you with a bad eye owing to the fact that it was you who dismantled lots of acolyte circles and led twice close to Grindelwald." Newt said, taking Celeste's hands into his.
Celeste gave him a watery smile while sniffing. "I know. I got way too lucky to get a husband like you. Thank you for sticking with me through this." Celeste said, blinking her eyes to get rid of the tears. "I vowed on our wedding day that I will never abandon you in your bad time. I vowed to you before we even got married that I will never leave you. You are my everything, I do not plan on leaving ever." Newt said, meeting Celeste's gaze.
Celeste's bottom lip wobbled, tears shining in her eyes. She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on his lips, which was so different from every other kiss they shared. Celeste slowly pulled away and rested her head against Newt's. "I have absolutely no idea what I would have done without you." Celeste muttered, before standing straight. She had to face everyone in her house, but she knew that everyone there will never abandon her,
She took a deep breath and held Newt's hand tightly. The moment they entered their house, the whole house went silent. Celeste noticed her pregnant best friend standing by the fireplace as she sipped on her tea, with George comforting her. "Oh Celeste." Stefanie spoke up as she noticed her daughter.
"Mama." Celeste said, her eyes watering again. Stefanie rushed and pulled her daughter into a tight hug, sobs passing through her lips. "Please forgive this old lady for hiding the most important detail of your life. I am so sorry for every pain this will cause you." Stefanie said, her hands rubbing her daughter's back.
Celeste gently pulled away her hand from Newt's hand and wrapped both of her hands around her mother's lean frame. "You have nothing to apologise for. I understand the position everything has put you into. I am very glad you are my mother. One thing Newt and his little creatures taught me is that bonds don't have to be from blood, and you proved it. No matter the absence of blood connection, You and papa are my parents and my well wishers. Grindelwald cannot and will not change that." Celeste whispered, closing her eyes.
"You are right about that one. No matter who or what Grindelwald is, You are my brave daughter, who might just overthrow Fawley in a day's time." Albert's voice made Celeste look at him in confusion. "Overthrow?" Celeste asked, pulling away from the hug. "Well Fawley has been falling from grace since you went against Grindelwald in Greece. No one, except bigots, appreciates the way he has been handling things. And word is out from your department about who is planning things that involve taking down Grindelwald." Albert said, giving his daughter a watery smile.
"And I just was done with the mission report, and Fawley attempted to send a team to arrest you, for something I have no idea about. But the auror team had totally different plans. Everyone is vouching for you Celeste, especially us." Charlus spoke up.
"And if someone has something against you, I will make sure they understand who they have messed with." Helena spoke up, moving forward with her swollen belly. "Did you manage to forget that you managed to make a better woman out of me who was surrounded by none other than blood racist Blacks. You made me feel like I was not a stranger in a house I was taught to hate. You changed me so much. Grindibitch cannot change the fact that you are nothing like him." Helena said, with George nodding his head.
Celeste looked around the living room which was full of people that loved her and cherished her. The moment of doubt was gone and she was determined to get back on track and put an end to the crimes of grindelwald.
The moment was cut short as there was a knock on Celeste's door. Newt knotted his eyebrow in confusion because he was not expecting company. He went towards the door and opened the door. He was met with a team of what he assumed were aurors.
"We are here with order from minister Fawley to arrest Celeste Scamander on the suspicion of treason against the ministry." The middle one announced, even though it was like they were being forced to do so.
Everyone inside exchanged a panic look, with Celeste staring at the entrance in shock. Well fuck.
