        Abaia is a large eel that usually dwells at the bottom of freshwater lakes in the Fiji, Solomon and Vanuatu Islands. People said that Abaia considered all creatures in the lake its children and will protect them furiously against anyone who would harm them or disturb them. People who are foolish enough to try to catch the fish in a lake containing the Abaia, they are overwhlemed by a large wave caused by the thrashing of the Abaia's powerful tail.
