The diner was fully packed this evening, Thomas Beauclair, one of the two waiters of the diner, was sprinting between the tables and the kitchen.
At the end of the shift Thomas realized that this was the most profitable shift he has had ever since the two years he was working there.
Thomas finished changing from his uniform to his casual clothes and he went to say goodnight to Fredrick Campbell his bestfriend and one of the three chefs in the diner.
Thomas: so I just finished my shift Fred and I wanted to say goodnight and check with you if it's fine for me to take a beer from the fridge.
Fredrick: Sure thing kid, it's not like I pay for any of this things knock yourself out just make sure the big bad boss doesn't find out.
Thomas: Thanks Fred, you're the best.
Thomas said as he went to Fred to give him a hug. And quickly left to go home before his boss can see him with the drink.
Thomas used to walk home every night after his shift his home was a 15 minute walk from his work. This night Thomas thought to himself how is life spiraled out of control in his latest years since his biological father left, and how Fredrick entered his life and kind of took his fathers place in Thomas's heart, even though he won't admit it to Fredrick.
Some distance from his building he suddenly saw a man he has never seen before just sitting on the pavement with torn up clothes and an empty cup that Thomas assumed was for spare change.
But what shocked Thomas the most was that for a second he saw that the man's eyes were glowing white and he had a golden Halo above his head.

Thomas: 'what the fuck was that, I'm not that much of a light weight to start hallucinating after some beer'
he though to himself as he choose to quickly go home take a shower, and go to sleep.
The next day Thomas has a morning shift, so he quickly got out to wash his face, make some coffee and just look out the window of his living room at the streets that were starting to wake up to a new day.
Thomas got dressed in his usual work attire he left his house and on his way to work he saw the same homeless man with the same empty cup from last night, just that this time the man looked completely normal with dark brown eyes.
When Thomas entered the diner he was welcomed by the furious form of Sebastian, the Owner of the diner.
Sebastian shouted at him that this is the last time that he will stand Thomas coming late to the morning shifts, he said that the next time will be the last time.
Thomas entered the kitchen to see his friend Fredrick already flipping pancakes on the stove, he told him what just happened with the boss and Fredrick told him not to worry to because Sebastian is like an old dog "all bark no bite"
