Burning, searing pain. Like you're on fire and drowning at the same time. Then the shortness of breath, as if all the oxygen has been sucked out of your lungs. Along with that, there's the dry mouth, like you've been in the desert for weeks. And to finish, the blurred vision starts as you fight to hold in the flood of tears.

And I was experiencing them all, as i watched them smile and laugh together. But then came the salt to my wound, as i watched him wink at a different girl across the room. It was official. He was lost to me.

And on that note, I pulled in a shuddering breath and walked away. Not only from the scene in front of me, but from him too and the betrayal I felt.
