Clint's voice range across the theater. "Is this human, the newbie, that Lena was talking about?" Clint said, stepping up and getting in her face.

His deminer. His words, cold, and hash, seemed to slam up against Kate. She rolled her shoulders back, shifted her Jade eyes straight at the man--she assumed he was a man--with an angel face and the kind of broad shoulders that suggested tight muscles and latent strength hidden beneath the ill-fitting clothes. He walked with a swagger that suggested an old-time Hollywood detective and his eyes were frigid and flat.

"This female, ain't one of us."

Everything about this man's appearance provoked hostility in Kate to soar.
"Agent Shawl." She sneered.

"In the flesh," Clint said.

"Do you always skip the introduction and go straight for the insults? "

"Only when it's appropriate."

Kate took the time to consider her response, disguising her displeasure, with a sharp assessment of him and his companion. Whereas Adam had a no-nonsense vibe about him.

He stood with confidence and power. A perfect mane of silky black hair, hypnotic, Cobalt blue eyes. His appearance, was definitely, easy, on a woman's eyes. A slow smile crossed his face as he looked straight at Kate.

Her eyes moved back to Clint's. "I'm tired, Shawl. I barely slept last night. And in case you didn't get the memo, it's my first day on this job." She was still trying to wrap her head around everything that had happened this afternoon. Maybe she'd sleep next month.

Clint's eyes cut to Adam, who shook his head. Barely a millimeter. However, Kate caught it and she understood. "Sorry, gentlemen." She tapped her head. "Can't poke around in here." She aimed a soft smile at Adam. "The boss has already warned me, about a vampire's ability."

"Figured I had to try. No offense." Adam said.

She looked away from Adam's gaze and crossed her arms over her chest. Murdock stepped in front of Kate. "Kate will be working with you two on the rogue cases," Murdock said. "I want her brought up to date on this case, Understood?"

Clint moved away, then leaned casually against a theater chair, giving off the appearance of a benign man having a simple conversation with a colleague. But there was nothing benign about Clint Shaw. She could see the anger bubbling beneath the surface. She imagined that edge made him an exceptional and not to mention a tireless opponent.

"Captain, this is bullshit." Clint ragged as he stalked the length of the theater. "Fucking bullshit." He was on edge, his monster still too close to the surface even after feeding.
Couple that with the total fucked-up nature of the situation, Clint found himself in a fury that he considered completely, fucking legit.
At that very moment, he could tell he was the only one who saw a problem with this little scenario. "Sir, I'd rather, not work with this female."

Kate set her jaw, then clenched both fists at her side. "Clearly, this agent wants to pretend he's got a big dick, I'm not going to stand here and prove to him how shriveled and tiny it is." She declared.

Pure hate burned in Kate's eyes, and it gave Clint a nice warm feeling of satisfaction to know that he was getting under the little female's skin.

Kate's Eyes cut toward Adam's, who shrugged then back to Clint's, she lifted her head, forcing her expression to remain cool as he took a step forward.

Murdock shot Clint a hard look. "She's part of the team," he said as Kate pushed a hip out to one side, apparently, unperturbed by Clint's outburst.
