"Mom! I am going!". Lisa yelled as she grabbed her back pack and reached for the door.
" Be careful honey! " Mrs Brown yelled back. As an anxious person, she also added, " And don't follow any strangers okay? And come back on time! "
Lisa was already gone. Irritated, she muttered “yeah yeah” under her breath and started to walk down the side walk. School bus might reach the stop anytime. She hurried her pace and managed to catch up with a swarm of students who were also making their way towards the same destination. Like a normal girl, she started walking along with them, except that she wasn't.
“Hi”. Someone suddenly slapped her bulky bag. She turned around to see her best friend Maria, grinning from ears to ears. Lisa smiled back as she greeted her and both held their hands as they walked.
“So, I am coming today right? At your place”.  Marie grinned again.
“Yup”. Lisa showed her set of white teeth, swinging their hands. Few girls glanced at them , looks of envy plain on their faces. Their friendship was even famous amongst their teachers. “I envy you, your mum let's you do almost anything!” She pouted. “My mum would take a week to reply me, if I were on your shoes.”
Marie laughed. She had a high, carefree laugh, and it was attractive. Her laugh was the second most thing which she envied.

The school was same as ever. Teachers came, gave lessons, except the history teacher Mrs Amy who wasted her half class blabbing about her private life while the students listened intently. Lisa adored her, and would aften chat about her during break. Mary was the only person who would patiently hear her, and often used her cleverness to divert to another subject while Lisa would not even notice. People described both as acid and alkali, as both were opposite to each other in a way and cancelled each other to stay neutral, which is why they get along so well. Both did not get the meaning of it until they were in fifth grade.
The school ended as usual, Lisa packed her bag and rushed outside the school, determined to take her favorite seat in the bus. Mary casually stuffed her books, knowing that she would save a seat for her.
The bus driver started driving fifteen minutes later. Mary was dropped, since she lived nearby. As she waved good bye, she felt a sudden pang of loneliness. A feeling that they won't be able to meet again. A kind of feeling when your mum dropped you off on your first day at school. But it felt much deeper than that. She turned around to walk, leaving Lisa puzzled by her moist eyes. Lisa turned around and gazed outside the window, her eyes followed her till she disappeared into the house.

“School had already ended at two o'clock dear, and it's already three! ” Mrs Brown half yelled at her husband who had his nose immersed in the newspaper. He looked up, pretended to be surprised and uttered,
“really?”
“Lisa is not home yet! What should I do? ” Her usually kind face was scrunched up, making her look older.
“ Probably snoozed off in the bus like the last time darling.” He rummaged for his lighter and lit a cigerate. Her worried expression turned into a fed up one. She glared at the clock to find that they had argued for good ten minutes. Wow. Lately she's been easy to get on nerves. She knew why. But it was no use throwing back to the whole story and start the same self pitying. She had already promised herself to move on.

A dark alley. It was supposed to be a full moon tonight, but the clouds wouldn't let it's single ray reach here. The evil dark clouds covered every inch of sky, making it look like it's the day of doom. A small scream finally broke the dead silence, a scream a rabbit would make when it gets cornered by a prey. The scream was accompanied by a kind of chuckle when you win a huge lottery, except that the reward was much bigger. Right at the end of the alley, a small woman who was tightly clutching her five figure purse with her long nails digging through it. Intense fear gripping her, she finally let her tears down her red eyes that was ready to pop out any minute. Opposite to her was big burly man wearing a huge hoodie jacket, that covered everything except his hairy hands and thick nose which was enough to tell that he is mad. He let out a cackle of laughter and within a second, struck her chest with the small knife he had, and pierced it as deeply as he could. She let out a weak moan through her red lips. Before her last breath, he whispered in her ears something that seemed to have perfected his task. He pulled the knife out aggressively, the red blood splattering along with it. As he turned around, everything went pitch black.

Lisa jerked up, sweat poring down her cheeks. What. was. that. Her breathing could not keep up with her heart beats. She found herself suddenly took over by an unexplainable fear and started to sob. It felt so real. On her midway of crying, she realised that she was sitting in the bus, already a centre of attention. Ashamed, she wiped her tears, only to know that she had dozed off while sitting. The driver glanced via the rear mirror, extremely concerned while one her senior students (who was also a prefect) calmly set himself beside her and whispered comforting words.
“ I am so sorry” she repeatedly apologized which was actually for the dead woman.
