dear maiya,

it's officially been over a week since i started writing in this damned thing, since i came to this school,

since i first saw you.

it's only been a week but it's also been a week. i need to talk to you maiya. i can't keep up this obsessive behavior without actually speaking to you at least once. i mean, that's kinda weird.

fuck it, this whole thing is weird. but i can't help it maiya, it's just the affect you have on me.

tonight there's another game and i'm going with the boys again. maybe this time i'll try to pay attention to the football rather than you. but we both know that won't last for long.

luke's throwing a party afterwards, because we're in high school and we're young and reckless, plus his parents are gone for the weekend so what else is he supposed to do? i for one have yet to experience the "high school party" and i'm kind of nervous to be honest. i'm still the new kid who hasn't yet found his place in the school social order, and i can tell the other kids are trying to figure that out. will i end up with the athletic crowd or the drama kids? am i nerdy or cool?

i've been hanging out with ashton and his friends though so it's not like i'm a complete outcast. michael has grown on me a bit, in fact, he's a giant teddy bear of a guy despite his intimidating appearance. i like luke a lot, he's a pretty chill guy and he even asked me to help him set up before the game tonight. he mentioned it was open-invite, so i hope you make an appearance.

but you'll probably bring jace.

from what little i know of him, i don't like him very much. but he makes you happy and you being happy makes me happy because a world where you aren't smiling and laughing that cute little laugh of yours where your nose crinkles and your eyes light up would be a very depressing place.

maybe someday you can tell me about him and why you love him. i'd listen. but that would require you acknowledging my existence.

i hope that's soon.

i feel like this is a little longer than the others which is cool idk it's just an observation
it hasn't stopped raining the last four and a half hours what a time to be alive
((for those of you who don't know california has been in a serious drought for the last three years and tbh i can't remember the last time it actually rained))

i'll probably mention the rain in my author's notes every update until it goes away i'm sorry it's my nature as a californian to be excited by water falling from the sky, plus in n out which is actually heaven in a sandwich.

tomorrow and friday are going to be super busy for me so i can't guarantee an update until saturday sorry babes
