Chapter 14

Danz P.O.V
I woke up next to Cesar. he was still asleep. I went to the kitchen to get water and checked the time.
*10:23 am*
Oscar then entered the room
O: good morning
D:good morning
O: you and Cesar on good terms?
D: I guess so
he walked towards the window and his eyebrows raised
O: I think your parents are home
I ran to the window and there it was. Their cars were in the driveway. I ran out of the door and me to my house and Oscar ran right behind me.
D:MOM! DAD!
I ran to the door and it was wide open. I stopped and grew suspicious.
O: let me enter and make sure everything is okay.
he went in first and then I stood behind him. We went to my parents' room. and there they were. Passed out. I checked for a pulse and it was there. You can tell they were using because their arms were full of red dots where they'd enter needles. my eyes began to water, Oscar came from behind and wrapped his arms around me.
O: I'm sorry
D:it's not your fault
I said crying
D:you didn't anything for you to apologize
O: how about we pack up your stuff and have you love into my house
I wiped the tears from my face and turned around.
D:no offense Oscar but you do Santos business in your house. It's not safe
he strongly sighed and you can tell by the look on his face he was thinking
O: I promise as long as you stay there I won't do heavy business there
D:heavy?
O: yeah heavy
D:I'll take your word for it then
O: there's a room in the back of the house. I'll clear it out and clean up so you can move in there.
D: Thank you, Oscar
he gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead
O: anything for you
an hour passes and only half of my room is packed. I hear the front door open and Cesar walks into my room.
C: Oscar told me what happened. I'm so sorry Daniela.
D:it's okay, it's not your fault, you don't need to apologize.
C: Anything I can do to help
D:Nah, I got this
C: I'm serious Dani
D:me too. I got it all under control. You should go to Ruby's house
C: why there
D: Someone new to meet
C: New to meet?
D: This girl Olivia. She family but not family.
C: What?
D:Just go over there.
C: no. what about you? I want to help
D:I'm fine. I'm okay. I'll be at your place soon
C: are you sure?
D:yes.
A/n: The time may get confusing. So, It picks up from Cesar's P.O.V and continues's through the day. Then, it switches back to Danz and picks up from Cesar leaving her house.
Cesar's P.O.V
I stopped by Danz and she said she didn't need help and to go to Ruby's to meet Olivia.
I got there and Ruby was outside waiting for me
R: What's up, bro
C: Hey
R: Did Danz tell you about Olivia?
C: Yeah
R: Listen, she's mad cute and I want her. So keep ya eyes to yourself.
C: You got it. What's this about she's family but not family
R:She's basically a family friend
C:Ahhh, got it.
Jamal and Monse walked up
J&M:Hey
R:She so pretty you guys
J: You said that like a million times already
We were all talking over each other until the conversation was interrupted by Ruby's mom.
Ruby's Mom: Ruby I think you forgot to introduce someone. This is Olivia, she's staying with us for a little while.
That's the first time i saw Olivia. Her brown eyes and her smile make her so beautiful.
We all went around introducing eachother until Monse pulled Ruby to the side. But Jamal and I kept talking to olivia and getting to know her.
Monse's P.O.V
I pulled Ruby to the side to talk to him about Cesar.
M: Has Cesar moved on completely
R:i don't know, maybe
M: I don't think im over Cesar and I don't want to go running back and repeating this cycle that we always do.
Ruby was distracted by Olivia talking to Jamal
R:when did Cesar work out
M: I feel weird, i don't think i'm ready to let go.
R:Think Monse. You guys do this all the time. and to be honest we're all tired of this cycle. The friend group breaks up and then gets back together. If you break up the friend group we're going to leave you.
M:im not trying to start any problems i just don't understand my feelings.
R:Go home and relax. Take a bath, listen to music and try to figure your feelings out
M:yeah, ima try that.
Cesar's P.O.V
O:It was nice meeting you guys but i have to get back to unpacking
We all said bye and Monse and I started walking diwn the street to head home.
M:how are you?
C:im good, how about you?
M:How is Danz
C:Shes alright.
M:I hung out with her a couple of days ago
C:Really
M:Yeah, she's so much fun to be around
C:im glad to know you guys are getting along
We stopped right in front of her house.
M:You know i love you Cesar
i stood there for a couple of seconds
C:i love you too Monse
i pulled her for a hug and gave her a nice squeeze and she began to giggle.
She walked into her house and jogged back to mine
Danz P.O.V
I continued packing until i felt footsteps come up behind me. I instantly got the chills.
Dad:Hey sweetheart, i'm sorry
i began to cry.
Dad: i love you darling and i'm sorry i'm such a terrible father.
D: why did you have to do this to me
he pulled me into a hug and handed me 3 thick envelopes.
Dad: Open them when you miss me or your mom.
D:are you leaving me?
Dad: i've done such terrible things to you sweetheart. I have a serious problem. I'm going to rehab. So is your mother. We need to get better.
I began to cry.
Dad: i'm selling the house. I'll give you some money when i can
He began to cry
Dad:i'm so sorry.
We sat there crying. Until Oscar walked in
Dad: Oscar, it's so nice to know you are taking care of my daughter.
O:Someone has to show her guidance.
Dad:Let me help you pack.
D: actually we just have to move things from here to over there
Dad: i can help out.
We began to move boxes and furniture and when we went back to my house my mom was awake.
Oscar was waiting for me at the door
Mom: i love you sweetheart.
she began to cry
D:i love you too
My mom gave me her necklace with a picture of her and my dad in it. and my dad gave me his ring.
They got in the car and left. Once they turned the corner I fell to the floor crying. Oscar came and lifted me up and held me in a hug.
O:I'm here for you Nena
D:I love you Oscar
O:I love you too
We went back inside and i just laid in bed contemplating life.
