Eons ago, the Celestial Palace have been the seat of power in the Land of Dawn. It is believed that this is the home of the Lord of Light, the creator of this magical land. He was praised and worshipped by almost everyone in the realm except for the Blood Demons whom do not approve the teachings of Light. They believe that Blood and Dark Magic is far stronger than any God so they started to conquer species and destroy kingdoms to increase their numbers.
In their conquest, the dark matter increased that resulted an opening at the edge of the southern region. It was later called, the Crack of the Abyss. Alice and the rest of the Blood Demons claimed the crack to be their seat of power and soon built a palace where demons and dark magic users reside.
They aim to overthrow the light across the Land of Dawn and claim this world with pure darkness. Together with her Orc slaves and Shadowbringer army, Alice turned the once rich region into now called the Barrenlands. From the Moonlit Forest in the east to the Askati Forest in the west, darkness continued to infect raises who soon became followers and believers of the Abyssal Ruler.
Leaders from the Askati Forest, Lightborn Capital and Moonlit Forest formed a unified alliance to end the Alice's reign in the Crack of Abyss. But darkness ruled the land and their light is too weak to defeat them.
This lead to the great war that lasted for centuries. Countless lives where lost, kingdoms turned to dust and light turned to darkness. Alice successfully conquered Stormeye Wasteland, parts of the Rantha Mountains and the Necrokeep, a once rich kingdom ruled by a beautiful queen who's adept in Necromancy. She used their abilities to raise the dead, giving the Abyss more power to overthrow everyone who tried to fight her army.
Reinforcements from the Dragon Altar arrived to aid the light believers in their battle with darkness. Soon after, the Lord of Light sent his most powerful light warriors to put an end to the war. He sent down the Aetherial Light - Uranus, the Nazar King - Kaja, the Goddess - Rafaela and Argus the Light of Dawn.
Together, they banished the darkness by pouring a great burst of light energy pulled from the altars of the Celestial Palace. This killed more than half of Alice's army and followers, leaving her with no choice but to withdraw from the war.
The fighting is over. They successfully banished the darkness that consumed the land for centuries. They blessed the land of the Askati to be the only ally kingdom standing and the closest to the Crack of the Abyss. They created a dome of light that covered the forest to protect its citizens.
Even after the defeat of Alice, the light alliance could still not seal the crack. It is filled with pure dark magic so the only thing they can do is to bless the land with light magic so it would be difficult for Alice's army to conquer the land once more.
As a result, the Lord of Light decided to send Rafaela and Argus back to the Land of Dawn so they can keep the balance between good and evil. Rafaela will be the healer of the land while Argus will punish those who have sinned so they could be worthy of the light's blessing. Kaja was appointed to guard the Celestial Palace while Uranus was sent down to the Land of Dawn to look for noble warriors that will hold the power of the four elements to ensure balance in the entire realm.
Rafaela and Argus roamed around the realm to fulfil their mission. To spread the teaching of light and maintain the balance between good and evil.
Balance was kept for ages. Rafaela and Argus have been the center of the light's teaching. Together, they reduced darkness to almost none while occassionally checking on the Crack of the Abyss to make sure that no demon or anyone from Alice's rank goes out of the dark doorway.
One day, Argus went to check the Crack of the Abyss after his stop in the Askati Forest. He noticed a great change in the purple energy bursting out of the crack since they last time they checked it. Curious to what is happening, he went closer to the crack's opening and there he witnessed the dark doorway down to the pits of the realm.
To his surprise, a figure of a winged woman appeard right infront of him. As the figure gets closer and closer, Argus grabbed his sword to prepare for a fight.
"show yourself!" Argus ordered
"HAHAHAHA ... watch your back" the woman said
She suddenly disappeared. Argus looked around to look for the woman but she's nowhere to be found. As he was about to fly away from the crack, the woman appeared right in front of him. It was Alice, the Blood Demon. Even before Argus could react to what he saw, the Blood Demon was quick enough to snatch his sword.
Alice held the sword high and uttered some ancient dark spell. Soon after, the demon disappeared leaving the sword struck into the ground. Argus quickly pulled his sword then left the dark place.
