Venice's Point of View:
"Big brother!" I called out as he flinches in surprise.
Seaborn gently takes a deep breath before securing the bloodied dagger on his waist pouch. He then smiles at me as if he didn't just kill a wild boar in a single slash.
"Yes, biscuit?" He asks.
I sigh," Papa wants to talk to you. He said it was important." I answered getting my handkerchief before wiping the blood on his cheek. It was a miracle as to how his clothes didn't get stained by the red liquid. Must be his fairie's work, Aquanis had asked me for a dissolvant earlier. It must be because he wanted to blemish Big brother's training clothes.
"Ah, it must be about the borders. Let's go."
My shoulders unwillingly tensed up as I hear the venom in his voice. I couldn't help biting my lip as his eyes suddenly darken. What's wrong with him?
"Em... Mama called for me as well, I have to go back to class." I quickly made up a lie which I think he believed.
"Maa... I'll get going now, see you biscuits."
And with that, he walks away. Heaving a sigh of relief, I fixate my gaze on the dead boar. I know he's been training to get used to blood, and that he has a thin relationship with Papa. But does he really hate him?
"Conflicted?" I hear Azerear's voice behind me, suddenly making me relax. Huh...?
"I'm fine." Spatting those words out, I sat beside the overly humungous boar before clasping my hands and muttering a small prayer to the gods to give the poor beast a happy life on his next one. I've always followed Big brother whenever he trains, and it's been a tradition to pray for the innocent beings he's killed.
"Why would you pray for these animals?"
I scoffed," These animals did nothing to deserve this. You can't just go up to creatures provoking it without being attacked. Animals have their reasons, the same with humans. Who wouldn't protect their home from intruders? Are you just going to stand there and wait for them to kill you?"
"Well, I certainly love your discomfort towards killing them. But we can't have a proper meal without their meat." He points out making me click my tongue.
"It's easy to make a healthier version of meat. In my-- In Maria's past life, there's what you call a Meat Analogue. You can make a substitute using what they call tofu." I retort unclasping my hands and resting them on my lap," I can't intervene with Big brother's training. It would mean I'm defying Papa's rules. And without a proper reason, I can never stop the world from killing animals."
"It's quite amusing that you really want to change the world, but you know you can't because of what it is right now. I see you more as an antagonist right now." Azerear jokes causing a nerve to pop up my head.
"I am an antagonist in this life." I sneered.
He chuckles," En, I forgot. Don't worry, I'll be by your side in this whole story. I won't let anything bad happen to you. We've made a deal didn't we?"
Yeah. A deal.
"Catch."
I let out a flinch as I caught what seems like a bag of chocolates. Glaring at him, he pouts back at me as if he didn't just give me my most hated food in the world.
"Don't worry geez. It's all dark chocolate. As if I'd give you something you hate... probably..."
Sighing, I opened it and plopped one in my mouth. It was indeed dark chocolate, but something was off. It wasn't made by the parlor maids. It tasted somewhat spicy once you were able to swallow it. It made me feel refreshed.
