"Wake the fuck up idiot we missin prime good coffee time" Jessie screams through the door.

A slight giggle leaves mouth and I start to move to the side of the bed to get up. Me and Jessie have been living together for two years now, she's my best friends and the person I'm closest in my life. We moved to LA because of my job and she was able to land a spot at a high end coffee bar in the same area as my job.

I am a music producer. Well not trying to brag or anything but I'm the biggest music producer in the business right now. I have been working with music ever since high school and I just stuck with it. I know how to play guitar, drums and bass. My dad taught me at a young age because he's in a band. I went into the music business as the top of my class. I would create and produce my own songs and they were actually somewhat good.  The only thing that I ran into is that I hated the idea of ever having any starlight. I wanted to just always be myself and not have to constantly watch what I was doing. So I changed my name on all of my songs to virtue. My name is Grace, one of the virtues so I thought it would be quite fitting. One of those things where only the people who knew would get the connection.

I never show my face in the media and I make sure my clients always sign NDAs when I work with them so my name and face won't ever get out. I like my life, I like living with Jessie and leaving with her to go to work in the morning and like things being simple. It just works.

I walk over to the closet and throw on black joggers and a black crew neck sweatshirt to match. I grab my glasses off my nightstand and perch them on my nose and fuss with my hair a little in the mirror. I Am in the weird inbetween stage of having kinda long blonde hair but it's also short so I finally let it do it's thing in a half up half down situation and walked out into the living room to greet Jessie.

She was sitting on the couch in a purple matching sweatshirt and sweatpants.

"Hmm I'm glad we both got the sweats memo" she giggled looking up from her phone.

"It was just way to much work to put on leggings this morning" I say playing with the string of my pants

"Alright you're driving since I only have a three hour shift today" she says as she tosses me the keys to my car.  I usually came to her work during the day but when she works the mornings I stay there with her and work on music and other odds and ends.

I take the keys and grab my backpack from the kitchen counter and we both exit the apartment.  It was the top floor one of the nicer apartment buildings in LA. I pay for it because I won't let Jessie even try to. Her just being out here keeps me sane so that's enough payment for me.

We finally get to my car in the garage. A grey Volkswagen bug. I got it when I moved here and it's been my baby ever since.

Jessie slouches in the passenger seat and presses the radio on.

This next one is the newest song from Dua lipa produced by Virtue, she by far is becoming one of the biggest names in the music production business and world.  She has become one of the biggest mysteries in the music business and continues to allude the public eye as her popularity grows.

I cringe a bit at the fact they knew I was a girl. During a interview someone accidentally called me a she and thus letting the public in on a little bit of who I am. Finally my phone connected to the Bluetooth and Jessie swooped through my playlists deciding on a song off The Weeknd's new album, that I had produced. It didn't bother me that much hearing my work. Especially if I like the songs. Abel's new album was one of my favorites that I have worked on recently. All the synth and 80's vibes just submerged me in nostalgia. He was super cool too he called me his little sister all the time and would just jam with me to his songs when we were working. He treated me like a normal person and it was really awesome.

"This song makes me wanna shake my ass" Jessie says turning to me and pulling her sunglasses down so I see her eyes.

"You know that might've actually been the goal" I say   Shrugging my shoulders sarcastically. The rest of the trip we just turned the volume all the way up and jammed. Moments like these remind me why I like the normalcy.

When we arrived to the coffee bar I parked in back in Jessie's spot. We walked in and greeted her manager Lexi

"Hey lex! I brought Grace" Jessie says as she ties the apron around her waist.

"You know I seriously adore you two right, like I don't know what I would've done if you two were here" Lexi says as she fills a bunch of straws into a dispenser.  Lexi is like a older sister to me and Jessie, she always comes over and hangs out with us and always loves when I come with Jessie to the shop.

I lean up against the counter and coo to Jessie who is  on her phone by the espresso machine

"A large double dirty chai please" I say putting on my best pouty face.

"Of course my highness" she says and she grabs a cup from the table. She finishes making it and slides it across the counter to me.

I make my way over to the counter and start taking my stuff out of my bag

"You know the virtue person is fucking sick dude like I seriously vibe so hard with all their songs" I hear lexi shout from the back as one of my Spotify playlists from my Virtue account starts to play.

Me and Jessie glance at each other and smile. She was the only one besides my clients who knew and it made still a little giddy whenever someone brought me up without knowing it was me.

I finally grabbed my headphone and plugged them into my computer and began to work.
