"Dad I'm going out!" I yell making my way to the door. "Be safe and remember, 11:00 sharp!" He yelled back making me roll my eyes slightly.

Yes, I have a curfew. Well, everyone did, since what happened years ago, they made it a law to be inside at 11, anyone out past then would get in trouble. Which I don't understand why because supposedly all the demons were killed, but my dad still thinks some are still with us today. I don't believe it, I've never seen one which I don't think I really want to either, but I don't think anyone's ever seen one anyways, so that's why I think all of this was dumb.

Anyways, every Friday or Saturday night, I almost always go out with my best friend Michael. We try to go out as much as we could and have fun since Mike knows my dad is super strict, he doesn't let me go out anywhere often. I'm not sure where we're going tonight, but I have no doubt it'll be fun because he makes everything fun.

I see his car parked where it normally was so I got in without any hesitation. "Hi Mikey." I greeted with a smile to which he gladly returned back. "Where are we going tonight?"

"Movies. There's this new one that came out and I really want to see it." He explained with excitement in his voice. We got there pretty quickly and when we got inside, I instantly noticed a group of guys and a of couple girls wearing leather jackets and dark clothing.

They were being pretty loud and reckless, pushing each other, even if it was in a playful manner, I can tell the employees were getting annoyed too, but for some reason none of them did anything about it. I didn't even realize I was staring, longer than normal for that matter until one of them was staring back at me. He had brown eyes with raven black hair, he gave me a look that seemed like it was full of pure hatred, I could see his eyes flicker up and down then a smirk grew on his face. I turned back to Michael flustered, trying to forget what had just happened, luckily he was already ordering food so he didn't see what just went on.

As we sat in the theatre, watching the previews that lasted longer than the actual movie—or that's what it felt like, which wasn't good for our popcorn since it was halfway gone by now. As the movie began to start, the same group of people in the lobby, were climbing the stairs which led to the back of the theatre, which was were we were sitting at.

They had to pass by us to get to their seats they wanted and as they did, the same guy with the black hair stared me down again with that same smirk which gave me a scared and uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I tried to shake it off, so I could just focus on the movie.

But I couldn't, throughout the movie, I could see him turn his head discreetly over to where we were sitting out of my peripherals, I forced my eyes to stay stuck at the screen, but he kept looking over here as if to make sure we were still here. That's what it seemed like. I wasn't sure what that was all about, but he wasn't bothering me or Michael, so maybe I was just being paranoid.

When the movie ended, I hurried out of there before they could even get the chance to stand up, still feeling a bit paranoid about it, I didn't want to tell Michael, to not worry him, but he told me he needed to pee, so I waited outside the restroom sitting on a bench. I didn't really want to smell pee at the moment and God knows what else. So, tapping and scrolling away at my phone, I hear a clutter of footsteps and it's those same people that were in the lobby and the theatre. But that guy with the black hair, he wasn't with them and I couldn't help but wonder where he was. There was that uneasy feeling in my stomach again.

Finally shaking it off, I hear another person come out of the theatre and it was him. I tried to focus on my phone hoping he wouldn't notice me, but I see a pair of all black converse appear in my eye sight in front of me. Slowly, I look up and he's towering over me with that same stupid smirk I was getting real tired of. Then, he sat next to me, that smirk still plastered on his face.

He leans in closer to me as I back away slowly, call me crazy, but I think he just sniffed me. As if I was some type of food.

Weirdo

His eyes closed then opened and when they did they were pitch black. My eyes widen at the sight, I was frozen, stuck on the bench I was sitting on. I couldn't move or speak.

"Oh yeah, he'll definitely like you." He smirked then his eyes went back to his normal color, he got up and walked away as if nothing happened.

I'm crazy right? I'm just seeing things, I didn't just see that, I haven't been getting good sleep lately, so I'm just sleep deprived. That's all.

Michael soon came out of the bathroom while wiping his damp hands on his pants. Still shaken up at what just happened, I tried to forget as much as I could so Michael wouldn't question anything. I just wanted to forget everything that just happened. "What took you so long Mike?" I ask as we walk to his car. "You know what popcorn does to me and my digestive system." He laughed. "Then maybe you shouldn't eat it."

"Maybe, but it's not a good movie if there's no popcorn." He pointed out as he drove out the parking lot. I didn't realize how late it was until I looked at the time. "Shit Mike, it's ten fifty. You took too long in the damn restroom." I laughed.

"My dad is gonna kill me." I groaned. "Relax, you don't live far. I'll get you home in time." Still, my leg kept bouncing up and down with the anxiousness I'm feeling, which wasn't helping either. I kept checking the time and as it crept closer to 11, and worry came over me more and more as the seconds ticked by. "Here. You better run inside it's ten fifty nine." He said to me. "Thanks Mikey, I'll see you Monday." I smile before running to my front door.

Michael didn't have to worry about the curfew as much, his dad was the sheriff, which still isn't a good excuse, but his dad wasn't as strict as my dad was when he came home a couple minutes past curfew, his dad knew he was perfectly capable of calling for help if needed and was able to defend himself if it came to it. I wish my dad was like that.

"Luke, it's past curfew, where have you been?!" My dad yelled from the living room where he sat with my mom. "It barely turned eleven right now dad. I made it home in time still. Don't worry." I chuckle at him while going to my room. He overreacts a lot.

After the encounter I had, it made me still feel really uneasy, so I made sure my window was closed, I may have checked it more than once actually to make sure it was locked. Just to make sure before I shower. Even during my shower, I might have rushed every thing a little bit because I've seen a lot of horror movies to know that the shower is the perfect place to get killed. Call me paranoid, I don't care, I'm just being safe.

So stepping out of shower, I tried my best to hurry, because I thought I heard something coming from my room which made me panic on the inside a lot more. So with just my bottoms on, I opened my door rather quickly and I scanned my room. There was no one there, but when I saw my window open, it made my heart drop.

Did I not lock it right? No, I know I did. What the heck? Oh my gosh, I'm gonna die

Cautiously, I locked it again, then checking outside to see if I saw any unusual things. When I didn't, I just thought I was imagining things now, so putting my shirt on I laid in bed just thinking about that demon I saw. I still couldn't believe I saw one, here I thought they were just some story that I didn't believe, but now I know it's in fact true, so I don't know what to believe now.
