The few months passed in a haze. Before anyone noticed, the spring had converted into summer, and suddenly, it was too hot to even go outside with more than one layer of clothes on. For Betty and Jughead, that meant their big day was moving closer and closer. Originally, they had thought about getting married at the beginning of June, but as Veronica kept telling them, they didn't have enough time to plan everything. So, as the days went by, the official wedding date moved to July sixth.

Which was in two days.

The two were sitting in a rented car, Beatrix sleeping on the back seat and Betty writing her new book on a laptop while Jughead was driving. The guy had finally found a normal publisher for his novel—the one about him and Betty, through the words and thoughts of a murder mystery. It was Betty's favorite book as she kept telling him, but he wasn't sure if she was lying or not. Now, during the summer break from the school the blonde worked at, Betty had gotten back into writing as well—something Jughead was excited about.

She was writing a fantasy story as usual, but the thoughts she had told him about, and some of the small paragraphs she had read out loud to him were original, amazing and hooking. Jughead couldn't wait to read the whole book and see her name on the top-selling authors' list.

Betty gently chewed on her lower lip, pressing save, and pushed the laptop shut with a sigh. "Are you hungry?" she asked Jughead.

He smirked and threw her a quick glance. "Are you asking me?"

The blonde smiled softly, keeping her eyes on his olive-skinned face. "Can we take a break in a gas station or something?"

Jughead chuckled. "You need to pee like really often, Betts."

She rolled her eyes at that while placing the laptop back into the right bag. "I'm just nervous, I guess..." Jughead heard some panic in her voice, but when he looked at her for a moment, she still seemed happy, so he told himself there was no reason to think she didn't want to do this anymore.

"Yeah?" he asked, placing his hand on her thigh. Betty looked at it with a smile and put hers on top of his, lacing their fingers. "What kind of nervous is it?"

"Like anxious but excited one..." And then, remembering something they had made up when they were younger, she added, "I feel like blue and yellow dots."

He grinned, remembering immediately. "Why?" he asked, amused.

"Blue is fear. And yellow is irresponsibility because we still haven't told anybody about why we got back together in the first place. And dots mean unstable."

He hummed. "Yellow is warm. And blue is like the ocean what symbolizes peace in poetry. So... They make green. Freshness, healing, growth." He glanced at her, answering her smile with his. After a few silent moments, he squeezed her bare thigh softly and brought his hand back to the steering wheel to pull over at the gas station. "I'm nervous too, baby. But you'll be there. So I'll be fine."

Getting all the things into their hotel room was a struggle. Jughead joked about the receptionist thinking they had bombs and wanted to blow the place up, because of the number of bags they carried into the elevator. Betty tried to hold back her grin when Jughead told a woman flirting to him that they had a baby and were getting married in a few days. The brunette disappeared immediately.

Bea was up when they finally closed the door after themselves, both in shock, staring at the suite Veronica had gotten the three of them. She had insisted on them going on a honeymoon, but when she understood they had a baby and couldn't get a moment alone anyway, she booked them the luxury spa hotel room for the whole week. Apparently, it was one of her and Archie's gifts.
