It was after school.

The nurse had told Renjun to go home to rest, and Jaemin insisted that he stay with Renjun. As silly as it sounded, he didn't trust the boy to walk home by himself.

Renjun didn't know why Jaemin was being so nice all of a sudden. He still believed that this was all a prank planned by Jeno, but he had to admit, he liked having someone with him. It made him feel less alone.

"Jaemin you know you don't have to stay," Renjun offered.

Jaemin just smiled. "Stop worrying Renjun. I told you, I want to help you."

Renjun was sitting on his couch with his leg straightened out. Jaemin sat next to him, looking at Renjun.

Renjun couldn't even bring himself to look at Jaemin. It wasn't necessarily Jaemin's appearance that scared him. The boy was absolutely beautiful. It was just the fact that he was best friends with Jeno which made him think that Jaemin's personality would be just like Jeno's.

Renjun knew that it wasn't very realistic for him to think that, but he couldn't help it.

"Why are you being nice to me?" Renjun asked after a while. He still hadn't looked up, but he could feel Jaemin's gaze staring at him and he decided to break the silence.

Jaemin replied with a simple, "why not?" Then added, "you've been nice to me, why can't I be nice to you?"

"I know, It's just..." Renjun hesitated before continuing, "won't Jeno be mad?"

Jaemin giggled a little to himself. For all he knew, Jeno was a completely different person than the person most people knew at school. He might as well be the complete opposite.

Just at that moment, the two boys heard the doorbell ring. Jaemin got up to open the door, seeing as Renjun's leg still hadn't gotten much better.

"Hey Renjun," he heard someone say. "Jaemin? what are you doing here?"

Renjun turned his head to look over at the door. His jaw dropped in shock after seeing Jeno standing at the door with a small plate of cookies.

"hey Jeno, Renjun's just over there, wanna come in?" Jaemin asked.

Renjun wanted desperately to mouth 'no' to Jaemin, but didn't want to seem mean at the same time. Instead, watching quietly as Jeno walked in and sat down next to him.

"I uh, brought some cookies. I bought them on my way home today and wanted to give you a few," Jeno said quietly.

Renjun hesitatingly took them, still not looking up. If Jaemin hadn't been there, he wouldn't have waited to yell at the other boy right there and then. But seeing as Jaemin was still sitting right next to him, Renjun decided to control himself and instead muttered a small thanks.

Jeno noticed Renjun's stiff posture and couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. It was his actions that made him feel this way, but Jeno really didn't have a choice.

"I should probably get going," Jeno said, getting the feeling that he wasn't exactly wanted by Renjun right now.

Jaemin nodded and waved goodbye to Jeno as he left. Renjun just sat there quietly.

"You know, he's really not that bad," Jaemin said after a while.

Renjun played with the ice pack he had in his hands. "I don't know. you've already seen the way he treats me, I just don't understand. He's so different at school," Renjun said.

Jaemin sighed. "I'm not sure what's wrong with him. But if he's ever being too much of a jerk, please tell me, I might be able to help," he said.

Renjun finally looked up at Jaemin, nodding.

Jaemin smiled. "now are you gonna eat those cookies or not? because if you're not, I definitely will," the pink-haired boy said.

Renjun relaxed a little and took a cookie, offering one to Jaemin as well.

Renjun couldn't help but smile, feeling somewhat happy that Jaemin was with him. A part of him felt a little guilty for not being open with Jeno when he came to bring the cookies, but then again, it wasn't like Jeno was the nicest to him either.
