Jeno sat on his couch, opening a bag of chips. It was the afternoon and Jaemin and Jisung were at the bake sale that their school was holding.

Jeno opened his tv and scrolled through he various show and movie options, finally choosing one he liked and clicking on it.

Jeno relaxed back onto the couch and shoved a chip in his mouth.

Normally on days like these, his two other friends would be here with him, probably bickering or arguing with each other, but Jeno had to admit that it was better than being lonely.

He had never really thought about it but he realized that he's never actually made an effort to make new friends other than jaemin and Jisung. He's always felt that having them is enough. He didn't really need anyone else in his life.

But he couldn't help but feel a little left out today. Sure it was his choice and he had decided not to go, but he hadn't expected to feel this way.

There was his next door neighbor renjun...

Jeno wanted to ignore the thought but he couldn't manage to escape it.

They boy probably wasn't even home, it wouldn't hurt to try...

Would it?

Jeno got up, putting on his shoes at the door and walking to the house next to his.

He brought his hand up to the doorbell hesitatingly.

Was he really about to do this? Jeno nodded his head firmly and pressed the doorbell, waiting.

Jeno fiddled with his fingers while waiting. Honestly, what was he thinking. Renjun was most likely at the bake sale with his friends. Why would he be at home?

Right when Jeno turned to leave, the door opened and Jeno turned back around to see a shocked Renjun.

The boy was in a lose oversized t shirt and sweatpants. To jeno, this only made the boy seem more small and cute than before.

"Jeno?" Something about the tone of the boy's voice made him seem both surprised and scared at the same time.

"H-hey..." Jeno started awkwardly.

Renjun stood there practically frozen.

Jeno smiled. "I was just wondering if you would want to come over to watch a movie or something?"

Renjun just stood there with his mouth wide open in shock, not sure what to say.

"Renjun?" Asked jeno quietly.

Renjun shook his head. "Wake up stop dreaming this isn't real," he mumbled to himself. The shorter boy closed his eyes and opened them again, only to see Jeno still standing there, confused.

Jeno was about to say something when Renjun suddenly raised his voice. "Are you out of your right mind? You bully me and then you show up at my house asking to hang out? I'm not gonna lie, I think your being crazy right now," renjun scolded. Then he proceeded to slam the door.

Jeno was stunned at how renjun managed to change his attitude so quickly, and even more stunned that renjun had actually slammed a door in his face. That was a reaction he definitely was not prepared for.

The boy turned around. There was no way he would ring the doorbell again. It would be best to at least give renjun a little time to calm down.

Jeno walked back, dragging his feet slightly. Why did the older's reaction make him feel so upset?

Jeno sank back into his couch. He couldn't help but feel empty. And not matter what, his mind kept on racing back to Renjun.

Why? Jeno didn't know either. It was probably just because he was feeling lonely right now.

But something inside him told him otherwise.
