A few days passed and no matter how many times Aizen went to the hospital, he was not allowed to visit Hikaru.

He still hadn't woken up.

_

So, he waited.

Just as he did every day.

He sat in the empty hallway, body glued to the metal benches, unmoving.

_

He sat there.

Waiting for Hikaru to wake up.

Hoping that he'll wake up.

_

That repeated for days.

He sat there alone, ignoring everyone who tried to speak with him.

Until Hanae joined him.

_

The girl had quietly sat besides him, body inches away from his own, "It's weird not hearing his voice." Was what she said.

Really... It really was.

"Yeah... Who would have thought there would come a day in which I would miss his insults?" He whispered back.

His voice was so soft, but Hanae heard him nonetheless.

"I know what you mean... It feels like something important is missing... Someone." The pads of her fingers tapped against the bench, quiet sounds filling the deafening silence of the hallway.

Something important... "I need him to wake up."

The girl shifted at the sound of his voice, "We all do." Her hand slowly slid across the bench, coming to a rest atop Aizen's own.

"You don't under-!" He turned to face her and stopped mid-sentence.

Her expression had twisted into one of immeasurable grief. Cerulean eyes, ones so much different from his own, were glistening under the hospital's yellow lights, showing the barely restrained sadness within her. Gritting his teeth, he looked away, feeling disappointed in himself.

How could he think she wouldn't understand?

"I'm sorry." He found himself apologising.

Hanae gripped his hand, "There's no need for that... I know that you feel like all of this is your fault, especially after what happened with Kaoru, but you need to know that it's not."

That's... easy for her to say.

"Even if Kaoru survived, there's no guarantee that this wouldn't have happened... Maybe things would have ended worse. Maybe you would have also been attacked and left in a similar state as Hikaru." She said, facing away from him.

Perhaps...

But that didn't change the fact that Hikaru was in that position because of him.

_

They sat there, in silence, watching as the light dimmed out through the window.

"It's you again..." Someone said, making the both of them look to the side.

A young woman stood there, wearing a nurse uniform.

Aizen recognised her, "Naomi?" He asked, sitting up from the bench, Hanae's hand slipping off his own.

"Yep! Tell me, what are you doing here? It's already late..." She placed a hand on her hip, tilting her head in question.

"Our... friend is in the hospital and none of the nurses want to let us visit him..." Aizen answered, awkwardly looking off to the side.
