AKI: "Wow..."

AYUMU: "Haha, you've been totally starstruck."

AKI: "W-Well, you saw them, didn't you?! The show! The music! μ's and Aqours, they were just amazing!"

This girl talking to me is my dear best friend Ayumu Uehara. We have been inseperable since Kindergarten. And now we're both in the same class at Nijigasaki High School, it's nice how fate can turn out sometimes, isn't it?

She gave me the nickname of Aki, so I gave her the nickname of Ayu.

AKI: "Say...What do you think that this 'School Idol Festival' that they were talking about is like anyway?"

AYUMU: "Let me look it up real quick. Ah, here we go. Hmm. Well, to put it really plainly, it's like a school culture festival?"

AKI: "A school culture festival? For school idols right?"

AYUMU: "Yeah, check this out."

I looked at Ayumu's phone to look at the details about the event, and it much like everything about school idols today blew my expectations out of the water.

AKI: "W-w-wait... It's seriously THIS BIG an event?! Look at it, look at how many schools are there, so many idols, so many shows... and they even have food stalls?"

AYUMU: "And apparently, students like us run the whole thing."

AKI: "Are you serious? Wh-Whoa! They must all really love school idols."

AYUMU: "Hey, look who's on the cover of the Web page. It's one of the idols we saw on TV."

AKI: "Honoka Kousaka... Wow, could you imagine being the face of an entire festival dedicated to school idols?"

AYUMU: "Um..."

AYUMU: "N-Not at all, I could never do anything like that."

AKI: "Don't worry Ayu, I'm sure you'd be a great idol. But still... That school idol festival interests me."

AYUMU: "Aki..."

AKI: "Ayu?"

AYUMU: "Wanna go?"

AKI: "I totally do! Under one condition..."

AYUMU: "What is it?"

AKI: "You have to come with me."

AYUMU: "I sure will!"

AKI: "Great!" *sigh*

AYUMU: "Hm...? What's wrong?"

AKI: "It's just that since I've never heard about school idols before, it's only fair to conclude that Nijigasaki has no school idols of our own. If they did... I would do my best to cheer them on all the way."

If only our school had school idols...
