plip!

Everything came back at once when he woke. He gasped for air, but he just choked on water...or something that wasn't the air. He swam to where ever felt like up to him. C'mon. He fell out of the liquid, falling down on a white ground. He looked up to see what was that. A swirling ball of ink pulling other blobs of itself from different places. It looked like a model of a magnetic field. It slowly started to fall to the ground, filling up the ground with a layer of Ink.

"What was that?" He looked down at himself. "Who am I?" He noticed a broken piece of brush laid next to him. He remembers what it's for and how he used it, but where's the rest of it? He took the brush and painted a random portal on the ground. He looked around. I protect this place. He looked at the area around him, Underswap. And there are different versions of these. Underfell, Storyshift—His mind wandered to explore this past memory.
"I'm the Protector of the AUs."

"But I don't know my name."

Ink created back the rest of his brush, "Broomie...Broomie! Oh, I missed you!" He giggled. "But there's something else I'm missing...maybe more?" He walked towards the mist, the dark grass soon replaced the snow. He heard voices, two voices. He gasped, wondering if maybe he could understand more if he talked to someone. He ran towards the noise. It was right around the corner, he just—

He ran into someone, "Ack! Sorry, sorry..." He trailed off when he saw them. Blue scarf, grey shirt, bright eyes. He knew him.

"It's fine, mweh heh..." They looked up at him, eyes wider than his. "Ink?" They gasped, they ran up and hugged him, "Where have you been? We all thought you were dead!" He sounded so relieved.

"Wait!" The person next to him pushed 'Ink' away from the other, "He can't be Ink. The Reboot killed him." Black, fluffy jacket, one eye red, dark demeanor.

"But-!"

"Who are you?" He growled at him. "You can't be Ink. He died a long time ago."

"Who's...Ink?" 'Ink' asked.

"He doesn't even know who Ink is! See, I told you." The one with the jacket summoned a weapon, ready to destroy 'Ink'.

"Wait! Fell, stop!" The one with a bandana pulled his arm down, trying to reason with him while they argued. Ink. Ink. Ink. I am Ink.

"Wait!" They both looked at him. "I...am Ink. I forgot a bunch of stuff, but it comes back quickly. Please...believe me." He looked at Fell. He loves Blue. Blue is next to him. Fell was in front of Blueberry to shield him somehow from whatever threat Ink was.

Fell's shoulders slumped down in relief, "Ink...so it's really you huh?" He gathered all of them into a hug, "Welcome back, you stupid asshole." And Blueberry didn't say anything about him swearing. Blue gasped and pulled away quickly, "Hm?"

"We need to tell him everything! Ink, a bunch happened. You were gone for so long." Ink wanted to hope he was exaggerating.

"Wh...how long?"

"Almost three years."

They were sitting down by the river on the bench, "So to sum it up, that's what happened," Blue finishes. Ink remembers. He remembers all of it once Blueberry had said enough. The AUs being taken, Blueberror's suicide, the world around him collapsing, the Reboot, but who else was he missing?

"You should go see Dream and Error—especially Error." Ink nodded, but his mind went blank to these names. Dream and Error...who are they? They must be close to me.
