That got a reaction out of everyone sitting in the auditorium. So many whispers of 'obliviation' and 'no maj'. "Shut it! We have a bigger issue to solve than a no-maj, who poses no threat to anyone present in this ministry!" Celeste exclaimed loudly, and this earned a hush of silence.
"Thank you. Now Mr. Scamander, which of your creatures did this?" Madam president asked as a floating image of a dead body appeared.
Newt looked at the body intently, his body posture was a bit loose and he was religiously avoiding the eye contact of people present in the auditorium.
"That's no work of my creatures Madam president. That's...that's the work of an obscurus." Newt said, a bit of confidence in his voice.
A collective gasp resounded through the walls of the auditorium. "There has been no obscurus in America since a century Mr. Scamander." Madam President said, shaking her head.
Celeste looked intently at the body, and she could see why Newt said that. "Madam President, I agree with Mr. Scamander here. This is no work of creatures. I myself have worked with Obscurial, and the markings are too familiar. No creature can do that." Celeste said, pointing out the flaw in their judgment.
"You go too ahead Ms. Fischer. There is no obscurus in New York. Mr. Graves, cease the case." Madam President said, which made Celeste stand from her seat.
"You can't do that without any proof Madam President. And not to mention you are accusing my citizen of high treason!" Celeste exclaimed, slamming her hands on the rail in front of her.
"There is proof in front of us Ms. Fischer. The case." Madam President said, as Graves ceased the case. "No! You can't do that! Those creatures are harmless!" Celeste exclaimed, trying to get out of her sitting place.
"We will be the judge of that." Madam President said, as the aurors chained the trio standing in the middle of the room. "No no, don't hurt my creatures. They have done nothing! They are harmless!" Newt practically begged with her but it went to deaf ears. He was dragged out of the room with the other two.
This angered Celeste so much that she glared at her. "I had heard about your absurdity Madam President, but this..this is some next level thing which I do not agree with!" Celeste exclaimed, her body posture and her voice tone practically made the man sitting beside her shrunk into himself.
"Ms. Fischer, you know nothing about this." Madam president said, shaking her head.
"As a matter of fact I do! I have spent my life with those creatures. They have never hurt me. You are basically scraping away the idea of obscurus because it would be a question to your authority. What is this Madam President? Just because you are scared that this will cause an uproar amongst the wizards and witches, you refuse to acknowledge it? And we are wondering why Grindelwald hasn't been captured yet." Celeste said, throwing her hands in the air.
Murmurs of agreement followed the lash out. "My decision remains the same Ms. Fischer. Mr. Scamander will be investigated." Madam President said, and dismissed the meeting.
Celeste was not the one to give up, so now she was sitting in the office of Madam President. Grave was looming in the office in the corner.
"What is it Ms. Fischer?" Madam president asked, her expression was bored. "I want in on this investigating team." Celeste said, before leaning forward, looking directly into Seraphina's eyes.
"You see, I have a very strong influence on the wizarding community of the world. If the words go out, that you have been pinning the charges against wrong people. It will be a messy process." Celeste said, in a threatening manner.
