Mewtwo's POV

Two Years Before

           I silently watched the many white coats walk around my room. It had become a habit of mine to count the number in the room and in the building. I had seen their routines many times, having them mapped out in my head. Days were a blur, nothing ever changed. People may be replaced but they will do the same tasks as the ones before.

          The old man (that I now knew as Howard Clifford) returned multiple times throughout my time and he quickly became more of a nuisance than anything. He too had patterned visits  I soon found out and today he was scheduled for his return. I watched with cold eyes as he was pushed into the room. "Hello Mewtwo," he said in a sing-songy voice. I forced myself not to blast him into oblivion and remained seemingly tranquil.

          He frowned at my reaction and turned to a scientist. They gave him a rundown of my vitals, my growing power, and abilities. I just closed my eyes and focused on the barely detectable heartbeat that drummed in sync with mine.

Y/N's heartbeat.

          The one thing that kept me from going insane in this prison. When I did open my eyes again the two had ended their conversation. Howard seemed pleased with what the scientist had told him.

          "That is good news, but I believe there was something else you wanted to show me?" Howard said. The scientist nodded and held out a small tablet. Howard grabbed it as the scientist explained, "We've been getting very strange readings for the amygdala part of the subject's brain. It appears that he is using his magic to withstand an emotional connection with an outside source. We have yet to confirm what it is but all points link to a friend or potential mate."

          I kept an emotionless face but inside I was shaking. There was no way they knew about Y/N. They don't have that much power, right? The thought left as soon as it came they were humans limited and blocked by themselves constantly. But then how were they able to tap into psychic energy, my psychic energy to know about my connection with her? If they found out who it was would they go after her? Bring her back here?

          My heart twisted in an awful way as I thought of seeing her here. I wanted to see her so much but this wasn't a place that I wanted to see her in. Howard stiffened, "I thought I said not to let it come into contact with other pokemon unless it's necessary for the project."

          The scientist nodded frantically, "Yes, it's only been in contact with no more than three pokemon in its life thus far, Sir." A light started blinking on the counter and said, "He's establishing a connection."

          My worry spiked and as quickly as I could, severed the connection between me and Y/N. The blinking light stopped but the screen lit up showing various numbers and graphs. I skimmed over the information and saw that there was no indication of Y/N's current location. I would have sighed in relief if I wasn't underwater. The scientist began to talk about the reading and signs and I paid close attention.

          Most of the information was wrong and inaccurate but Howard seemed to be taking it to heart. After the scientist was done talking he lend back in his wheelchair and spoke. "If he is communicating with another pokemon I want you to find this pokemon and study it. I want to know why this creature has suddenly caught the attention of the project."

          A different scientist walked up to him, "But sir you seem to not understand, we don't think it's just any type of pokemon. The readings that we're getting back are extremely similar to human brain waves."Howard's gaze didn't waver, "Does it look like I care if it human or not. Just find them and bring them back here... dead or alive."

          They turned towards me and I forced myself to stare blanking back at them like I didn't care about Y/N's fate. When, in fact, it was the exact opposite. I sensed that their serenity was slipping but they began to enact the plan none the less, trying to get a location out of the information they'd gathered.

~~~~****~~~~
           Its been a week since they 'found' out about my connection with Y/N. They haven't gotten any closer to finding her that much I'm was aware and I haven't tried to link with Y/N. Regardless if they can actually scan for her location, I'm not going to take the chance of giving them any more information. A worker stepped down the ladder after finishing repairing the machine's outer mechanics. With the repairs, they had also added a second sleeker white heavily circuited outer layer.
          Howard hadn't returned yet but rumors had said he'd be returning today to talk about something. What that something was was never spoken out loud and also rarely thought about it too. The inside sensors flared to life as they started the daily tests. I remained still, retaining my docile state of appearance. The doors slid open and a new group of people entered. They wore black suits and incircled single person.
Howard.
          He'd finally decided to make an appearance. The group of suited men was new and obviously untrained in the field of pokemon. A few broke their compromise as their jaws dropped when they saw me. I allowed myself a low growl to intimidate the newcomers. They all turned away and focused on a scientist that was walking towards Howard, ignoring me for the time being.
          "Hello, Mr. Clifford it's an honor to meet you," she said politely. Howard merely waved her off, "Please call me Howard. How is the side project going?" The scientist was surprised but complied none the less.  Something was off. I didn't know what it was but this seemed a bit obscured. The scientists were too tense and Howard was far too relaxed. The black suits were on their guard, looking ready to blot.
          The female scientist clicked a few things on a keyboard and the computer lit up. The bright screen showed a thick forest and a large town in the center. A box popped up and coordinates started to show in it. No, I thought as a flicker of panic began to form. The computer zoomed in for a closer view of the city.
          "We were able to locate and speak with the target but she was uncompetitive," the scientist said with guilt laced into her words. My blood froze in my veins. They couldn't have. There was no way! I tried linking with Y/N but I couldn't. It was like she had just disappeared overnight, a little buzzing sound was all that was left. Howard sighed, "Then did you do as I asked?" The scientist nodded. "Yes, the target was eliminated as you ordered."
I snapped, my fear turning to anger in flash.
           The computers exploded into an array of sparks and flames as my power became uncontrollable. Howard was blown onto his side and flames licked at his wheelchair. Other humans began to flee the room but I jammed the door forcing the flow of humans going out to slow. I tried to blow open the metal cage around me but the expanding and contracting metal wouldn't give. I focused my newfound attention on a random person, not knowing or care who they were in my state of pure rage.
          Metal pipes came from the ceiling to collapse on a black suit. Not soon after a bolt of lightning shot through me, pain leaking through the anger.
          I swung my head around to see a female scientist standing next to her fallen companion, holding a remote. I growled and she pressed the button again out of fear. This shock was longer and I had to force my eyes to stay open, my vision blurring. I watched as the pale humans clambered out of the burning flames and one turned back to look at me. I didn't have to be able to see to know it was Howard. The disrespectful look I felt burn into my fur was undeniable. YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!, I yelled into his and every mind for miles.
They would all pay.
          He ran through the door after one of his men coached him through. The fire was no danger to me. The metal cage prevented any major damage but it didn't block the heat. My eyes lipped as the heat scorched my fur and black started to invade my vision. Soon it became too much and I fell unconscious with grief craved into my skin.
So I apparently made Mewtwo a bit of a yandere. I'm literally winging this storyline guys I have no idea what's coming next or how it's going to play out. Sorry that I'm so so late with this chapter. Inspiration is on the low but the next should be up soon. So thank you for reading my poorly plotted book and enjoying it.
