The end of the tunnel

Alone,
In a place that doesn't know me,
Amongst people who do not care,
I realized one thing about eyes.
At times they are more useful
If shut and not open.
Whatever I see with open eyes
Is unfamiliar,
Strange faces and unknown ways.
But when I let the lids down,
When I let the dark take over,
I see a light at the end of the tunnel,
A face that is yours,
A place that is safe.
I feel less scared with my eyes closed,
I feel a lot more at ease.
