     "I like your shirt."

I looked over at Andrea and cocked an eyebrow.

"I thought you didn't like Doctor Who?"

"Well I don't. But the shirt looks cool."

     "Thanks? I guess?"

"Come on, Akin. Can you take a compliment?"

"Usually, but you scare me sometimes. I never know what you're thinking."

"When have you ever known me to not speak my mind. I said I like your shirt. Deal with it."

     "Okay."

Andrea and I walked off to 5th period, which, in all fairness to the teacher, is the worst class of the day. I mean, I actually wanted to go into the science field after high school, but this year isn't really helping my choice. Mrs. Clemelia is not the best teacher, to put it nicely. The science teachers in general decided to not give us the answers to what we're studying. So who knows if we're right or not.

     "Yo! Justin!"

I turned my head to see my teammate running down the hallway, waving his arm.

"Annnnd that's my cue to leave. Bye Akin."

Andrea veered off to the side and ducked into a classroom right before Matthias slung his arm around my neck.

Now, I'm not a small dude. 5'11" and 180 pounds. But Matt here makes me look like a midget. There's a reason he's our centerfielder. He's got like 5 inches on me, yet he's still around the same weight. I don't understand it either. Super nice guy though, really nice.

     "Sup, Matt?"

"Look dude, the game tonight is gonna be crap if we can't get it together. Have you talked to Stokes?"

"Yeah. Jordan knew he needed to step it up after he hit the fifth guy Tuesday. He's been hitting the mitt hard the last three days. I think he's ready."

"Well a pitcher is nothing without his catcher. Just remember to be on your A-game too."

     I saluted, "Sir, yes sir!"

Matt rolled his eyes and pushed my shoulder, which, by the way, is as big as his hand.

     "Just remember the pick-off, kid."

     "I'm older than you!"

He chuckled, "Then look like it."

      I nearly shoved him over.
