Mother's instincts~ Lucifer x Reader

365 days passed like a breeze. It felt like a month, but in reality, my time at Devildom came at an end and I had to go home. To the human world, where I'd reunite with my family and a boring ordinary life. As much as I didn't want to leave, I had to follow the rules I obliged at the start of my exchange.

So here I was, sitting outside the house on the front porch that I had called home for a year. I had made so many memories with everyone. Lucifer, Beel, Mammon, Levi, Asmodeus, Satan, Belphegor and everyone else at the academy that made my time worthwhile.

I glanced at my watch, it was almost time to go and Lord Diavolo had advised Lucifer to escort me back home.  At least we were using the faster way than trekking up the depths of Devildom, one suitcase sat my foot and I heard footsteps behind me.

They had all come to see me off. Everyone in the House of  Lamentation was up and was before me. Their faces were sombre and sad. Their usual twinkle and cheekiness were gone especially from Levi and Mammon who'd usually butt heads. Asmodeus too was awfully quiet holding a handkerchief in his hands, Beel didn't have any food in hand. Belphegor and Satan couldn't bring their gazes up, and Lucifer well he was behind all of his brothers the most silent of them all.

"Y-Y/N, I'm going to miss you~" wailed Asmodeus, running forward making me catch him. He pressed himself closer; wailing.

He grasped me and hugged me close as Mammon too came closer-scratching back of his head. His eyes were glassy and his cheeks with pink. He rested a hand on my head and stuttered at first.

"I-I'll miss you too Y/N, I'm never g-gonna forget you," I patted his shoulder and he joins in the hug.

He gladly wrapped his hands around Asmodeus and me, feeding the extra warmth too us. The twins came up next, shaking and both biting their bottom lips. 

"Y-Y/N can't you..." Started Belphegor, he prodded his brother. They both looked at each other and I could see Belphegor's pillow shaking.

"...any longer?" says Beel finishing his sentence. 

I warmly smile at them, I titled my head.

"I wish I could, but I'll miss everyone no doubt, I've made so many amazing memories here and I will never forget them. I will never forget you guys you have made me the happiest I've ever been," I too was starting to cry and the group hug grew bigger.

What would I ever do without these people? I loved them so much it hurt to leave them. Satan and Levi bowed their heads and applied themselves too to the hug, Lucifer was the left standing. His head hung low and his hands were stuffed into his pant pockets.

"I'm gonna miss playing Fire Emblem with you a-and and watching anime with you," 

The soft purple-haired demon cried, Satan too was about to tear up but hid it with his blonde bangs. I sighed and we all parted the hug. Wiping my own tears I picked my suitcase.

"Thank you all for having me," I bowed at them and Lucifer nodded at me.

And that was the last time I was in Devildom...

Once we reached the human world I was greeted by the sun. As in summer heat, I forgot how hot summers could get here. Lucifer was next to me, he held my hand tight. The neighbourhood looked the same as I left it the night I was brought to Devildom.  I prompted directions that led up to my house.

That too didn't change, but what was going my mind was what were my parents going to say when I tell them I stayed a year in hell with Lucifer and his brothers. I tugged at Lucifer's cuff but he had already reached his hand out to knock the door.

He knocked once, I tugged harder. No response, it was only going to be a few minutes until the door would open. He started to walk off the porch and behind the house. He couldn't just leave me. I yanked his tie, bringing him back a few centimetres. 

"I'm gonna miss you, Lucy," I say, pecking him on the cheek.  

I dropped my grip on his tie. He smiles and ruffles my hair, and he gave me a look.

I'll take care of everything.

As soon as I turned around I was engulfed in my mother and fathers hug, tears couldn't help spring out of my eyes. My family. I didn't realise how much I missed them.

"Hey pumpkin, how was your school exchange in Japan? I heard you received straight A's," Grinned my father, reaching out to grab my things. 

"Ah yeah, I really enjoyed it,"

 I looked out to the front garden and Lucifer was still around in the neighbourhood. Fairly close and far from the house. So that was the story, and the 'I'll take care of everything' from Lucifer. I briskly turned back to my mother's voice, her eyebrow raised.

"That's good dear, I made your favourite, f/f!"

(A/N: f/f = favourite food)

My eyes widened and I swear I squealed a little too loudly. My mother smirked at me and caressed my cheek. "You look so grown up,"

I scratched the back of my head, blushing.

"I look the same, really," 

My mother's head peeked behind me and she started walking down the porch towards the figure walking away. She was pretty fast, I reminded myself how fast she used to be before I left. I looked everywhere, but father was already inside the house busying himself. Frantically I chased after her and caught her talking to you know who.

 Lucifer.

Once I caught my breath, I shared an uneasy look with Lucifer as he spoke with my mum.

"I noticed how antsy you were acting dear when you saw this fine young man," She held the sides of his arms like she was trying to sell Lucifer off.

I raised my hands in surrender and sweatdropped. As for Lucifer, he looked pretty calm. Mother turned back to him and studied him. "Such a proper young man, I'm glad my daughter found someone like you. What's your name dear?" 

My face flared bright red, and my shoulders raised in surprise. Lucifer chuckled his voice deep and smooth earning an even bigger smile from mother. She put she hands on her hips.

"Lucifer, ma'am," 

Mother grasped his arm again, I grew more panicked. His name was literally after a demon lord- well he was the demon lord, how was mother going to react?! I searched his face and he smirked at me.

"What a unique name my dear, I can't believe you didn't invite him inside honey. You need to introduce him to your father!"

...Oh god.
