Emptiness

Transparent and clear it blocks my mind
Harsh but blurry it hides all kind
Unpredictable yet subtle; it creeps low still
Nothing yet compels my will

I push against the wall of smoke
The harder I try the more I choke
It's heavy, wide, and tall and stiff
It's nothing I alone can lift

All I do is sit and wait
Stare at words and watch them bake
Sitting quiet waiting still
Nothing happens until it will

A blank white screen and small black keys
My fingers tap against my knee
I search my mind for words, words, words
They come in halting twos or thirds

I manage through the emptiness
Pushing towards sweet ending's kiss
Slowly words will fill the screen
At least that's what I want to dream

I sit and watch the cursor blink
I try to clear my mind and think
Someday soon the words will come
I'll have to try and wait for some

Not a lot of things come clear
But I'm still hopeful they'll appear
I take a break, refresh my mind
Come back when I can find a rhyme

I'll force the words
Press down the keys
Paint the page with thous and thees
It's hit or miss I don't know when
My forcing thoughts will make a 'fin'

At least it's done
I can't do more
So words will stay and be explored

I'll mark it done
At least I tried
Glad that something's before my eyes

So now I'm done
Just one more key
A small extension
And then I'm free

A/N: So... have you ever tried to write a poem about writer's block... with writer's block?
No? Well, that's why I'm a genius. Lol. Seriously, this took me so long.

Hope you enjoyed regardless! ;)
