Dream Big
Aim high
Touch the great blue sky
Don't ever look back
But don't say whyBe the best
But don't be proud
They told him strong
As they knocked him downExpectations soared
He began to roar
Expectations tore
What were they for?He reached for glory
No one told his story
They turned their back
He fell off his trackAccept me please
He begs and pleas
They laugh so loud
As he touched the groundA college degree
Is a friend indeed
It isn't enough
Even though it's roughA tender hand now reaches down
Their fingers meet
He no longer frownsMy name's defeat
His voice is lowMy name is love
Her face does glowHis shackles fall
His elders fade
They are left to face their own earth graveHe'll fly on wings
And touch the sky
Not one could say he never triedHe'll live with love
And eyes cast high
He'll dream so big
Till his life is nighHe'll remember firm what his elders said
Dream big
Aim high
Touch the great blue sky
