Chapter 1 - Golden Puppy

When I heard Lucy say she loves me, my heart fluttered and I felt like I was on cloud nine. I sighed in relief, 'I'm glad my feelings are definitely not one-sided' I thought. I was about to tell her 'I love you too' but suddenly she pushed me to the side and I saw her being hit by a shot of magic. "Lucy!" I exclaimed and then in a flash, only her clothes were on the floor.

"Lucy!" I shouted again and ran to her clothes. As I gathered her clothes in my arms, I noticed a lump inside her clothes. I held her clothes in one arm while I used the other to pull the clothes away from the lump. The lump revealed to be a golden puppy. I was extremely relieved to know Lucy was not dead. I whipped my head around towards the person who shot the magic but the person was already gone. I looked back down at puppy Lucy and thought 'now it's my turn to take care of you' with a slight smile. She'll be my golden puppy.

With her and her clothes bundled in my arms and her keys in my pocket, I ran straight to the guild. I need to tell everyone what happened. As soon as I arrived at the guild, I kicked the doors open. "Natsu, what have I told you about kicking my guild doors?!" Gramps shouted but this was more important. "Lucy's been turned into a puppy" I told him and everyone turned their attention onto me. "Looks likes the tables have turned" Wakaba said.

"How did this happen Natsu?" Gramps asked and I explained everything except for our conversation. "I'm happy to take care of her Gramps" I told him and he thought about it for a second. "Alright, take good care of her" he said and then left to his office. I walked over to the bar and sat in Lucy's seat. "Hey Natsu" Happy said as he flew up to me. He flew closer to my ear and whispered "I'm guessing the confession didn't go well." "Lucy confessed to me but when I was about to confess back, Lucy pushed me out of the way of a spell" I quietly explained to him. "Ooooh you looooove~ each other" he teased. "Shut up Happy" I said and then I heard a whine coming from Lucy. We looked down and saw puppy Lucy waking up.

She looked up at me with her big chocolate brown eyes then she stood up and leaned on my chest, reaching up to lick my nose. "Thanks Lucy" I said as I pet her. I thought back to my memories as a puppy to think about how Lucy took care of me. I remembered her giving me a collar and decided to go out and buy one. "Come on Happy" I said as I left Lucy's clothes on the bar counter and ran out of the guild. "Where are we going Natsu?" he asked as he flew beside me. "We're going to the pet shop to buy a collar for Lucy" I replied.

As we arrived at the pet shop, Happy and I went straight to the collar section. "What about this one?" Happy suggested as he grabbed a plain blue collar. "Too boring" I replied, "how about this one?" he asked as he held a light green plaid collar with a bow on the front. "Too silly" I replied. Lucy took the effort to give me a good collar that looked like my scarf so I'm going to return the favour by giving her a good one. "How about this one?" he asked as he held up a glittery pink collar with golden crowns around it. "Too princessy" I replied, "oh lets get her this one!" he said as he held a blue collar with pictures of fish around it. "Too fishy" I replied and then I saw the perfect collar for Lucy. It was a dark blue collar with golden zodiac signs around it. "This is the one" I said as I picked up the collar.

"Ooooh that's perfect for Lucy" Happy said and Lucy barked happily in agreement. We headed towards the checkout and bought the collar. I knew I have everything else at Lucy's apartment from when I was a puppy so I don't have to rebuy those things. I'm sure it cost Lucy a lot of money out of her rent to pay for my puppy supplies. "I'll make sure to pay you back Lucy" I whispered to her, knowing she would remember when she turns back to normal. She wagged her tail which told me she heard.

As I was leaving the store, I clipped on Lucy collar when a lightning came towards us or should I say me. I quickly jumped out of the way to the middle of the street with Happy and Lucy in my arms and saw all the citizens running away or into their homes. I noticed we were surrounded by Death's Five Sins who were all standing on the roofs around us. "Happy, take Lucy back to the guild. Fast" I quietly said to Happy as I gave him Lucy. "But what about you?" he asked, "I'm going to give them a proper hello" I said as I cracked my knuckles. "Good luck Natsu" Happy said before he Max Speed out of here with Lucy.

"Tadashi! Hiroshi! After that blue cat!" Raiden ordered and they jumped off the roof, running in the direction where Happy flew off. "No way!" I quickly ran in front of them and stopped them in their tracks. "I'm not letting you get to Lucy. You'll have to get through me first" I said. The rest of the Death's Five Sins jumped down from the roofs starting with Raiden. "Fine then, we'll go through you first" he said. I'm all fired up.
