"Yuno, Hiru, those three stars are Orion's belt. Here, look at database and see if you can find the rest of him, okay?"
"Hai!"
Those two were the only others she'd let see her screen. But that night was the last time they'd see it.
Because not long after they found Orion, those men showed up and ruined her life.
She'd fought hard to protect them, but her Firewall only lasted so long against their hail of bullets. When the firewall fell, they took their chance and beat her just enough to let her know who was in control.
They took the kids from their hiding place and held guns against their heads.
"STOP PLEASE! I-I'LL DO ANYTHING JUST DON'T HURT THEM!"
The supposed leader of the group held Yuna by her hair as she cried in pain. "Anything? Then go kill the men on that cargo ship across the dock and we let the kids go free. You used your curse on us, so I know you're capable. You're lucky we're willing to keep the brats alive, got it? Demon!"
And she did just that...
She jumped into the water before swimming across the inlet to the boat. She swam through the pain she'd felt in her body from the beating those men gave her.
She killed an entire crew of Port Mafia smugglers on that boat that night using a new code she had created out of despair. Code: Malware. While Firewall acted as a barrier to bullets before sending them back towards an assailant, Malware would snake across the ground towards he targets and strangle the unfortunate souls it came in contact with. The range of this attack was absurdly large.
It was a ghastly scene, but she needed to save them... the young boy and girl who had given her a glimpse of hope that humanity was kind to the unwanted.
She swam back with two newly broken ribs and a broken ankle. She'd never been great at hand-to-hand combat back then, so the few mafiosos who had escaped her malware were ready to kick her ass when she recovered from using her ability for a few moments.
When she returned to the dock, the children were alive and unharmed. "I did it. Now let them go."
"Of course."
The men threw them on the ground and the two stumbled to their feet before running over to the girl.
"(Y/n)-san!"
She was stumbling towards them as well, but before they reached her, just when relief flooded her mind, a BANG shot through the silence of the moonlit dock.
Then a second shot rang through the air.
She watched as the two most important people in her life were taken from her as they were just a few feet from her arms. Tears began to leak from her eyes, as she held their bodies in her arms. No words escaped her mouth, only a throat-burning scream of pain escaped her mouth.
"NOOOOO!"
She broke. She didn't even have to think of the code. Database seemed to almost channel her anger into the code before she yelled out. "Code: Execute Program... I will... avenge my family..."
She watched as the men who took the only people to ever be kind her from this world died screaming in agony. They begged her to stop, but the truth was, she didn't know how to stop that code, she had never used it before. She didn't consciously make the code, only watched as their bodies were ripped apart by an invisible force. Parts of their bodies would disintegrate into red pixels as they screamed for mercy from the girl, but she couldn't stop it.
