"The most beautiful experience we can have is
the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science."

MYSTERY

"I can come over and make you some soup sweetheart. Just tell me your address and I'll
be over right away." Michael stood inside of his
antique shop with a tinge of loneliness sinking in
his heart. Magnolia wasn't here today, she had a
cold and called in. Michael was now on the phone
with her trying to find any reason to come over
her place and play doctor.

He wanted to take care of her.

He wanted to love her.

Magnolia slightly coughed against the other line.
"Oh no...no Michael I'm sick. I don't want you to
get sick love." She called him love and that made
his heart suddenly drop. Michael always felt like a
little kid with a crush when he was around or was
conversing with Magnolia. She just had that effect.

"I don't care that you're sick. I want to see
you and feed you soup and crackers. We can
be sick together." Michael  sweetly laughed
as he pressed the telephone closer to his ear,
trying to find some way to be closer to her.

"Now if we're both sick, whose gonna run the
store huh?" She questioned. Michael sighed a
bit. She did have a point but he didn't care. He
just wanted to be around her. He was addicted.

"What's your address?" Michael asked,
completely ignoring the valid statement of
why he shouldn't try to come over. "Michael
you're not coming over. I'm sick and tired."
She whined before sneezing.

With a defeated sigh, Michael slumped his
shoulders a bit and leaned down against the tan counter. His elbows were pressed against the wood and his head was slightly leaned towards the left.
His eyes roamed around the store in a daze like
state for a few seconds before Magnolia called
out to him. "Michael?" She softly spoke.

He snapped himself back into reality. "So
you're not gonna let me come over and take
care of you huh?"

"I don't want to get you sick my love. I would
never forgive myself!" Magnolia dramatically
stated. Michael lightly chuckled.

"Sweetheart, where do you live? I just noticed
all this time I've been knowing you, I never came
over to your place." Michael asked. Even though
Magnolia didn't want him to come over and stay,
he still wanted to bring her some soup and fruit.
Orange juice and other little foods that helps a
person recover from a cold rather quickly.

Magnolia suddenly went silent.

Michael repeated himself. "Did you hear me?

"I...I live near—" Magnolia stopped herself mid sentence as she loudly sneezed. "Michael, I don't
feel good....I'll call you later, bye sweetheart." In
a rush Magnolia quickly hung up the line, leaving
Michael a bit confused. He contemplated on calling
her back but decided against it. A mere two seconds
passed by before the phone rung again.

Michael eagerly answered, thinking that Magnolia
was calling him back but it was actually his mother.

"Michael?" Katherine said ever so sweetly.

Michael smiled on the other line. "Mom! Hey."

"Michael, sweetheart why haven't you been
calling your momma? I haven't heard from you
in god knows how long." Katherine exaggerated
just a tad bit but it still made Michael feel guilty.
