"when are your parents getting back?" michael asked, playing with the raven haired boy's fingers.

"about two weeks i think. why?"

"just asking. you must really miss them."

"a lot. we're together all the time you see." michael nodded.

"do you see your parents a lot?" calum asked, brushing michael's fringe away from his eyes.

"no..." calum frowned.

"how come? what happen?"

"they beat me then abandoned me when i was 14." michael explained, avoiding eye contact in case he cried.

"why? it okay if you no want speak about it." calum comforted him by playing with his hair.

"i told them i like boys. they freaked out and just kicked me out. i've been living with luke and his family ever since. i don't know where i'd be without luke." tears slipped out of michael's eyes, calum wiped them away with his thumb.

"i'm so sorry about that."

"it's not your fault. it's okay." calum pulled the sad boy into his chest, firmly kissing the top of his head.
