Part three// The past

Will is sitting on the floor and the tears can't stop running down his cheeks. He finally allows himself to feel all the emotions. Oh god, he just came out to his childhood best friend and first love. He is heartbroken over Mikes reaction, like really heartbroken, but inside of him something has changed. He feels free inside of his soul. He can't lie to himself or anyone else anymore. After about ten minutes Will stands up again and brushes off his last tears from the face with the sleeves of his shirt. He looks at himself in the mirror and lets out a little laugh. He really looks awful. Then he feels a pain in his heart  when he remebers how Mike just left. Will told him his biggest secret and he just left and walked out on him. That hurt him, a lot.

About an hour later Will is sitting in the kitchen with a paper and pencils in all the worlds colours in front of him. He draws again. It is a different drawing and he paints it with so many colours. So many colours and just as many emotions. He's calmer now, it's almost as he has accepted Mikes reaction. They aren't living in a fairytale and this is not the first time Mike has left him behind. What did he think?

When the doorbell rings a few hours later when Will is about to go to sleep in his silly pyjamas he has no thought that it possibly could be Mike Wheeler. When he opens the door he almost chokes on his water that he is drinking. Outside of his apartment stands Mike with wet hair and red eyes. Anger is building up inside of Will.
- I don't think this is....
- Shut up Will. Shut up.
Mike steps into the apartment, closes the door hard and then he just grabs Will and kisses him. Will don't know how to act or feel. He has no words for his feelings. It just feels weird. Weird in the best way ever. Mike is a good kisser. When they are standing in Wills small hallway kissing he closes his eyes and suddenly he's a child again. He feels Mikes lips and he just wants more. He never wants it to end. Mikes wet hair is all over Wills face and Will starts to see small fragments of their childhood. He sees them on the swings, he feels Mikes arm around him and the only thing he hears inside of his head is " Crazy together". When Mike stops kissing him he is afraid to open his eyes, but he does. Mike is standing so close, their noses are almost touching. He looks so afraid, there is something in his eyes that Will haven't seen before. They are just looking at each other for a long time. Mike is older but his face looks just like it did ten years ago. His clothes are wet and cold and his hair is dripping. Will is not angry anymore; not at all.

After a while they are sitting close to eachother at the end of Wills bed. Mike has borrowed Wills dark blue sweatshirt and it's way too short for him.
- I'm sorry Will. Mike starts to tear up.
- I had no idea you felt this way.
- I didn't think I did. I have tried so hard not too feel anything. I have just wanted to forget about you.
- After all this time.. why did you come here now Mike?
- I.. I don't know. I guess I just wanted to make sure I had no feelings left for you before marrying Elsa. Oh god, I'm such an idiot.
- Yeah, you suck. Will laughs, but it is a kind laugh.
- It just got too much you know, when you told me that you are..
- Gay? Will smiles.
Mike starts to cry.
- Oh my god, I didn't think I would feel like this after all these years. It feels like we are kids again. Mike sobs. Will gives him a small hug but Mike pulls him really close. They are just sitting like that, Mike sobbing into Wills small chest. Will holding him but staring out in the room. Thinking about how his life has changed in one day. Thinking about his childhood. Thinking about Mikes wedding.

This is so wrong. So damn wrong.

But it still feels so right.
