I pant as I push the door open to the roof.

I stumble out looking around fast for him.

"Xavier?"

I pant out looking for any sign of him.

"Fuck, fuck, please don't." I look around more frantic.

I then see him by the edge.

"Xavier, please..."

He turns around as the dips of blonde frame his soft face.

"Chris?"

"Sorry to disappoint you." His voice is broken in the night.

I shake my head walking toward him.

He steps back from me.

I stop reading his body language.

"My brother left, he was going to ... just he left if you want him."

I cross my arms watching him. "What happened."

Chris keeps his eyes down.

"Hey, what happened." My voice is soft against the police sirens and yells of the Boston night.

"Long line of expectation and I ruined it all."

I move toward him when he doesn't look.

"It doesn't matter."

"Chris, talk to me."

TheRedRoom

Harlow's hands shake as the darkness of the club creeps over her.

Her breathing stops when something hits her back hard.

"Don't move."

Harlow's lip shakes feeling him.

"Following me now?"

Harlow stays silent in front of him.

"You can speak my sweet."

She finally breathes out, "I didn't follow you."

"You just happen to be here?"

"You followed me." She chokes out feeling his hands on her hips.

"Oh that's your cover?"

"I have been here for hours." She snorts back sending her elbow into his stomach. "I would call that as you followed me."

He groans out looking up at her.

"Like I said, you followed me."

He stands up keeping his eyes narrowed. "You aren't from here."

"And neither are you." Harlow hears the eastern european accent coming from his lips.

He licks his lips watching her. "So can I buy you a drink?"

Harlow rolls her eyes, "Fuck off."

He smirks watching her, "I am buying your ass a drink."

"I said fuck off."

He nods grabbing her wrist pulling her hard back into his body, "Woman, I am getting your ass a drink tonight."

Girls Apartment

His eyes stay on mine as I move closer to him.

"Just talk to me." I grab his hands pulling him back from the edge.

"I ruined it."

"Ruined what, you can always fix anything."

Chris keeps his eyes on me.

"Nothing is completely permanent."

"Over a dozen irish boys have been killed and I have no lead."

"That isn't your fault. I was there on the street, and saw nothing."

He swallows back pushing around me.

"Chris, who is telling you that you failed?" I turn around watching him.

"My grandfather, he was an old school Boston cop. He knows that this is close to home and close to him."

I step to him putting my hand on his side feeling the loose workout shirt stained with sweat.

"He told me that this should have been over before it creates a war."

"What war, between who?"

"He told me that there is bad blood between the old school Irish and Russian families."

I rub his side not realizing my hand was under his shirt touching his skin.

"That after everything, this could be the start of an old holy war."

I pull him into me feeling his heart race.

His toned arms wrap around me pulling me in close.

"There won't be a holy war. Chris, that won't happen."

His forehead hits my shoulder.

"Chris, please.." I rub the back of his head trying to calm him. "Please, it won't come to that."

"How do you know that? Brooklyn... the families are talking."

I hold him tighter. "It won't happen."

TheRedRoom

Harlow moves her hips to the music as he pulls her into her side to feel her.

She smirks out knowing he likes it.

He puts some money on the bar signaling to the bartender.

Harlow wiggles more feeling where his hand is on her hip.

He leans over kissing her neck, "You are dangerous."

"You have no idea."

He softly moans at her when one of his guys walk over to him tapping on his arm.

He looks back at the others as they are gone.

He listens to the guy keeping his eyes down.

Harlow dances more feeling herself relax in his arms.

He nods his head as he leans over kissing her neck, "I have to go."

"Wait, what?" Harlow spins around grabbing his arm. "Seriously, like that?"

"I gotta go ... handle something."

Her brows sink down, "Please don't do it tonight."

He looks at her a little stunned and worried.

"Please, don't go tonight."

He closes his eyes pushing his lips on her forehead.

"Don't." She grabs his shirt keeping him close.

Girls Apartment

Chris looks down at me.

"Just, it won't come to that."

"Do you... know .. something?"

I step back from him, "No but what signs of this has been them starting a war?"

His eyes narrow at me.

"It won't be a war."

Chris steps back to me when his phone goes off.

My bottom lip shakes, "Don't answer it."

"What do you know..."

"Don't answer it."

His eyes get wide looking at me more.
