"Why aren't you awake yet?"

I roll over in my bed when I hear my roommate yelling at me from the kitchen.

"You are going to be late to work!"

"Maybe i want to be." I mumble pulling the blanket up to my face.

My door swings open, "Hey, you need to get up."

"And you should go back to bed." I snort back.

"Brooke, you have to get to work."

I glare at her.

She nods putting the coffee on the nightstand then looks down at me in her scrubs.

I roll over in the bed looking away from her.

She smacks my hip, "Get up and get to work!"

I bury my face more into my pillow.

"Go to work!" she shouts back as the front door clicks shut.

I keep my eyes out the window when something nudges my leg.

"Go to work..."

The nudge happens again.

I roll over as I don't see her. "Wait, what..."

I hear the snort as I look down seeing him.

The dog from next door.

He whines at me nudging me again.

I move over pushing the covers back for him, "Come on."

He jumps up curling up in the bed with me.

My eyes slowly shut letting me drift off to sleep again.

"Holy shit, Captain!"

I shake my head hearing the yelling.

"CAPTAIN!"

I groan sitting up when the dog kicks off my side running for the front door.

"Captain, what the hell..."

This voice was different.

I sit up rubbing my eyes.

This voice was softer.

"Captain, what are you doing in here?!"

I look up seeing the figure in a loose shirt.

"Holy shit, hey, sorry..." The guy covers his face turning around. "He is my brothers dog and I so freaking sorry."

I crack a smile with a chuckle, "You are the other half of the next door man that never lets him out of the apartment?"

"That would be my brother with the crazy work hours, I am Xavier." His eyes are a soft blue with a gentle wide smile.

I hit the coffee maker, "Xavier, nice to have a name to the frat house next door."

He laughs back at me, "Frat house?"

"Random girls all day leaving and of course, crazy work hours." I smirk back at him.

Xavier matches my smirk, "I will let the leader of the frat house know of his neighbors concerns."

My smile grows when my phone goes off. I glance down seeing the name as I roll my eyes.

"You need to leave?" Xavier asks me watching me close.

"No, I really don't want to leave right now."

He sips on his coffee. "Hate work?"

"I do, people are idiots."
