I swung the door open and saw Asa standing at the door. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt and a black blazer. His hair was slightly jelled at the front and he looked...amazing. I felt my knees slightly buckle under me so I grabbed the wall at the side to steady myself.

"Heyyy." He said, and I felt everything inside me fall apart.

"Hey." I said with a small smile.

"You look really pretty." He said. I tried not to faint.

"Um, thanks. So I guess we should go?" I asked nervously. He nodded. Mom suddenly walked out of the kitchen.

"Oh hi Asa! Nice to see you here! Rowan, when will you be home?"

"Ummm...." I looked at Asa. I had no idea how long the date would be.

"About 10 o'clock Mrs. Sparks. Is that ok?" Asa asked politely. Mom smiled and nodded. I grabbed my black leather jacket and threw it on, took my purse, gave mom a quick peck on the cheek and ran out the door, shutting the door behind me.

"Sorry about my mom. She can be really weird." I said, slightly embarrased. I walked down the pathway and waited for Asa on the sidewalk. He finished fixing his shoes and ran over to me.

"What? I didn't even notice she was doing something.." He said with a small smile.

"Oh okay. So where to?" I asked, looking into his blue eyes. His smile got bigger, and he reached out his hand. I got ready for him to slip his arm through mine, but instead, I was surprised to find his hand on mine. He interlaced our fingers together and I felt a fury of butterflies in my stomach. We walked down the street as he began a conversation.

About 10 minutes later, we were standing at the door of Jackie's. There were fairy lights laced all around the window, with fluffy pillows on the window sill inside.

"It's so beautiful." I gasped. He nodded, smiling, and pushed open the door lightly. For some reason the place looked a lot better then before. Christmas lights were strung around the ceiling, with a crackling fire behind the bar counter. People sat at the wooden tables chattering quietly amongst themselves. A girl, that looked about 24 or so came up to us with a smile.

"Hi, welcome to Jackie's. Table for two, I suppose?" She asked. Asa and I nodded.

"Is this one free?" I blurted out. I was dying to sit at the cozy little booth right at the window.

"Of course." The girl motioned to the table and Asa pulled out the chair for me. I glanced at the waitress and she winked at me. I tried not to blush while Asa sat down. She handed us two menus and left with a smile. I opened it up, my finger shaking slightly.

"It's really beautiful, isn't it?" Asa asked. I nodded. A quiet tune was coming from the radio, a song I knew well and quite liked.

"The atmosphere is just so perfect." I said, crossing my legs.

And I've been thinking about it lately does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes....I sang in my head, paging through the book.

"I'll take an iced water and..." I said. Asa looked at me, a mixed emotion hidden in his eyes that I couldn't quite read through. I thought about what Kayla had said to me, what was written in the magazine.

"And a veggie burger." I finished. A smile flashed across his face and I tried not to raise an eyebrow. What...was that about?

"Good choice." He said, and at that moment the waitress came. We both ordered, Asa finally deciding on sparkly water and a chicken dish.

"So...." Asa began, reaching for my hand on the table. He interlaced my fingers with his and he smiled at me, eyes and all.

"tell me about yourself Rowan."

That night at the restaurant felt like something out of a movie. Amazing music continued to play through the speakers as I went further into detail about my life story. I jumped over the part about my troubles with eating, as I didn't feel comfortable enough yet.

People walked past the windows in the dark city, and often times Asa would stop me and we'd start a small side conversation. When my food came I was too fixed on his eyes, on his gaze to worry about the calories. I ate my whole meal and it tasted amazing. I had almost forgotten what it felt like to be full.

After we payed the bill Asa took my hand again and we walked out. I was about to head home when he pulled me gently and we started forward to the center of London. The sky was thick with clouds as we walked onward. This time, Asa delved into his life story, telling me about his acting and how stressful it could be. He was honest about how sometimes it was a lot of pressure, and told me that he sometimes just needed a rest, a getaway from the whole business part of his life. Finally, we stopped.

"Wow." I breathed. The London Bridge glowed with light in front of us.

"Rowan, have you ever heard of those bridges where people attach a key and throw the lock into the river?" Asa asked, looking into my eyes. I nodded slowly, not sure where this was heading.

"And?" I said uncertainly.

"C'mon!" He said suddenly, and we both ran down the sidewalk and all the way onto the bridge. There was a big metal placket covered in heart locks.

"Row, I know we just met, and this will probably sound stupid but that day when I saw you, I knew you were the one. You caught my eye and I was so overwhelmed with a rush of feelings I could barely control it. You're so pretty and I was so terrified to ask you out cuz I was scared of what you would say. Maybe that's what asking out is, but I'll ask just to make sure. Rowan, do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked. I felt everything in my body freeze up and then all of a sudden a rush of heat. He, he...

"Yes. Yes yes yes yes." I threw my arms around his neck and buried my face into his shoulder. He smelled like heaven.

"Let's check these out, huh?" He said, motioning to all the locks. I nodded eagerly and we crouched down to examine them. Name after name engraved in hearts, rusted metal enclasped forever on the bridge. It was beautiful, and I couldn't help but wonder if I'd ever be lucky enough to lock one myself.

"Asa! Look! LOOK! It's snowing!!!" I exclaimed, noticing the little white flakes falling from the sky. Asa laughed.

"Yup." He said quietly.

"It's so pretty oh my goodness! Taste it! C'mon, try!" I said happily. He continued to laugh, and I then realized how childish I sounded.

"What??" I said, making it sound like a complaint, but I was giggling myself.

"You're so cute." He whispered, looking into my eyes. I felt my heartbeat speed up.

I leaned closer to his face, and we stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds. The snow fell into my curls and got tangled in my eyelashes.
And then, all of a sudden, before I even realized what was happening, my eyes were closed and
our lips were touching.
