Ellie woke up laying on a bed made of palm tree leaves. She tried to sit up quickly, but was held down by someone.

"Don't move, I'm trying to heal you!" A male voice said softly as if Ellie were an animal. "Guarisci le ferite." He muttered as a warm sensation covered Ellie's arms and legs where there were bruises and cuts from the climb up the mountain. The warmth was almost calming.

"What's going on, where am I?" Ellie asked the male. She couldn't move to see him yet.

"I found you passed out in the woods and I brought you back here since you looked kind of beat up. You're in Pineto, an elven city in the kingdom." The male replied.

"Did you just say 'elven'?" Ellie asked confused.

"Yeah, why?" He asked. Ellie sat up.

"Look, I'm not interested in some weird role play." Ellie said sitting up to look at him.

He wore a brown leather jacket with a black ripped shirt and blue jeans. His hair was a blueish green and was shaved on both sides but had some slightly curly hair in the middle hair along with light lavender eyes and a wrist tattoo that looked like a bracelet. His upper ears were pierced and he wore long brown cloak with jewelry hanging from it over his jacket.

"Role... play?" He asked.

"Staying in character are ya? Look your ears are even fake." Ellie said reaching up and pulling on his ear, which caused him to fluster and slap Ellie across the face.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Geeze sorry I was trying to save you, you're probably one of the last humans that even exist." He said angrily.

Ellie had a blank stare. "T-They're real..? One of the last- what the fuck is going on?!" Ellie said with wide eyes.

It was obvious she wasn't ok and that something wrong, she looked terrified.

"Shut up will you! If the others knew I brought a human here they'd have my head!" The male hissed.

Ellie didn't reply, she was hyperventilating. This was probably a panic attack.

"H-Hey calm down, sorry I yelled at you I just-" He said.

Ellie shakily took some deep breaths and once she was mainly calm she looked at the elf, who had been rubbing her shoulders to help calm her.

"I-I have some q-questions..." Ellie said quietly. She was still shaking.

"Go ahead." The elf replied.

"First of all, who are you, where am I, how did I get here?" Ellie said trying to stay calm.

"My name is Philip Woodwork, you're in Pineto or in Old English its said Pinewood, and I carried you here after I found you passed out in the woods." The elf replied.

"No, I was on a mountain and when I... fell off... the edge I was in some weird bubble thing and then in water and when I swam up I was in the woods. Where am I?" Ellie asked calming down some.

"Well... you're on Earth... uhm... you're in Pinto... there not much to it. If you want I can do a locating spell to see where you were born." Philip replied. Ellie nodded and Philip stood up in front of Ellie.

"Trova la storia" Philip said, a symbol appearing above his palm. He put his hand out at Ellie to direct the spell at her and his face grew blank.

"Okay..." He said slowly. "I think you're from a different dimension or something because the spell is treating you like air." Philip said dropping the spell.

"A different dimension? So... not my world?" Ellie asked. Philip nodded.

Well it's better than death from dad. Ellie thought.

"Phew." Ellie sighed.

"You don't want to be in your dimension?" Philip asked.

"Oh hell no." Ellie replied standing up. "What's going on in this dimension? Are there just elves or is something interesting going on?" Ellie asked way more casually then she should've.

"There are 5 races of 'humanoids' that roam the earth now, Elves, Vampires, Sirens, Flamelings, and Shadowlings. Well... the human race is dying because rich vampires and sirens love them. The Flamelings and Shadowlings just got out of war and the Shadowlings won because they teamed with the elves because fire burns earth. The Flamelings are probably going to go at war with the Sirens soon because water puts out fire and they'll probably team up with the vampires because they both enjoy eating humans. Oh and there might be a sixth species uprising soon." Philip said thinking.

"Hold on, can I do magic?" Ellie gasped with a twinkle in her eye.

"Uhm, humans were experts in blacksmithing I think. I only know 4 spells though. 'lama di ferro' should give you a sword, 'scudo di legno' should give you a shield, 'muro di protezione' should build a temporary wall to shield a group, and 'corona' gives you a crown." Philip said. Ellie eyes lit up.

"Show me how to cast." Ellie said excitedly. Philip laughed.

"You're really into this 'new dimension with magic's thing' aren't you?" Philip asked. Ellie nodded enthusiastically. "Well I could show you how to cast but again if the other elves knew I bought a human into Pineto they'd kill me..." Philip said, thinking. "Chiama Toby." Philip said, flicking his wrist toward the bed causing a green mirror like screen to appear with a dark figure in a hoodie to appear on the screen.

"Toby help me teach a human from another dimension magic." Philip said to the person.

"What? You talk to fast." Toby replied.

"I found a human from another dimension and they want to learn magic and I need help sneaking them out of Pineto." Philip replied. Toby groaned.

"Fine, but only cause I owe you for constantly breaking up fights because us and the Flamelings." Toby replied. "Porta Philip" Toby said, opening a portal-like door on the wall.

Philip ended the the green mirror thing as Toby walked in.

"Porta vicino" Toby said, closing the portal-like door. "She's supposed to be a human from another dimension? How do you know?" Toby asked, looking at Ellie.

"She mentioned something called 'role play' then called my ears fake and pulled on one of them." Philip explained.

"Oh, she's from that dimension... ok I can see why you didn't call me to put her back in her own dimension..." Toby paused before casting a spell. "Travestimento anima aiutante." He said directing it at Ellie.

Ellie looked down at herself. What did that do? She asked herself. Nothing had changed.

"Geeze she really isn't from here, it's still a baby." Philip said.

"Well she's not a magic user yet, of course it's still a baby." Toby replied.

"What the hell are you guys talking about? What's it?" Ellie asked.

"She's confused on what we're talking about." Philip said as if he was translating.

"Oh, right, never seen Shadowling magic before... basically you're a doe, or baby deer, to everyone but yourself because apparently a deer is your spirit animal or familiar. Only elves can understand you right now so try not to talk outside of here and if an elf talks to you pretend to be a deer and make shit up." Toby explained.

"Well that's a stupid concept." Ellie said.

"She thinks the concept of that spell is stupid." Philip translated.

"Whatever let's just get her out of here before you get you executed." Toby replied as he opened the door and started to walk out with Philip and Ellie not far behind.
