"You're wrong."

Dazai had taken up the air right behind (Y/n) and Atsushi, and when (Y/n) turned towards him, she saw a serious and grim expression on his face.

"The Port Mafia's retribution MO is similar, but it's also as specific as a fingerprint.  They begin by tying their victim up, and making them bite the curb.  After their jaw is broken, the victim is rolled onto their back, and shot three times in the chest."

(Y/n) brought a hand to her chin before saying, "In other words, this was a cover-up.  Right, bastard?"

Dazai patted her shoulder which caused her to glare at him, as he happily said, "Precisely!  You're so sharp, (Y/n)...   Please stop glaring at me..."

The young Sergeant mimicked her actions before he said, "Shooting her two more times to cover it up... how cruel..."

Ranpo interrupted everyone by yelling out, "Times up!  You've failed, Sergeant!  Thus proving that your officers are not superior to my abilities!"

The older and gruff-looking detective crossed his arms and huffed out, "Alright then, if you're such a great detective, it's your turn to solve the case Mr. Detective.  Need me to start a timer for 60 seconds, detective?"

It was almost as if this were a rehearsed act.  (Y/n), Dazai, and Ranpo all gave out a knowing smirk while Atsushi still looked confused.   Ranpo reached into his pocket before pulling out a pair of glasses as he said, "I won't need that long."

Dazai put a hand over both (Y/n) and Atsushi's shoulders before he said, "Watch closely, this is the ability that keeps this Agency going.  This will be the first time you both will see his ability in action, it will be a great learning experience."

Atsushi still looked confused, most likely thinking, 'How could someone as simple-minded and childish s Ranpo solve a case with virtually no evidence?'

Atsushi saw (Y/n) hold her hand up to Dazai's ear before she whispered something to him.  Not long after that Dazai nodded and said, "You think so too?  What gave it away? Also, can you stop calling me a bastard, I'm sorry!"

(Y/n) shrugged and said, "There has been no autopsy, correct?"

Dazai smirked and said, "You really are a sharp one, aren't you?"

Atsushi was going to ask the pair what they were talking about but he was interrupted by Ranpo suddenly saying, "Yes, I see."

"I see, my ass!  You're going to tell me you know who the killer is?  Yeah right."

A scoff from the senior detective signaled him to continue.  The bespectacled man slowly raised his hand as he said, "Of course I do.    The killer--- is you."

Ranpo pointed a hand to the young Sergeant detective, causing the older detective to laugh out, "Hahaha!  Detective, Sergeant Sugimoto is my officer.  Why would he kill her and then come back to the scene?"

"It's to see the progress of the investigation that he's interested in, we can verify my suspicions with that gun at his hip."

(Y/n) looked to Dazai with a smirk before she said, "I was right, it was him."

Dazai nodded and said, "We both were."

"Shut up, bastard."

Atsushi was utterly amazed at the terrible theories his peers were coming up with, and so was the Senior Detective.

Ranpo spoke up and said, "If you check his gun and see all of the bullets are there, then you can call me an idiot and get all of this over with.  That's enticing, isn't it, Detective."

The older man laughed out, "That's no problem, show them your gun Sergeant."

The man stalled before the older detective spurred him on once more, "Sugimoto, go ahead and prove this idiot wrong!"

The Detective begrudgingly reached for his firearm causing the older detective to say, "That's right, just let us see."

As the man was about to hang over his gun, he slowly pulled back the hammer, loading the pistol.  This action caused both (Y/n) and Dazai to lean slightly forward in anticipation.

"Dazai... do something."

The brunette put both of his hands on Atsushi's shoulders before he said, "Not Dazaibut Atsushi!  Go get him, boy!"

With a strong push, Atsushi was propelled towards the young sergeant, and he managed to grab the gun just as he pulled the trigger.  That movement caused the bullet aimed at Ranpo to shoot into the ground nearby.

Atsushi managed to pull the detective's arm behind his back before Ranpo said, "Case solved."

The Senior detective was shocked at the events that took place, and he stuttered out, "Let's-- Let's head back to the station..."

(Y/n) slipped out from under Dazai's arm before she said, "That may have been interesting, but I'm still pissed at you, bastard."

The brunette sighed and turned to Atsushi before he said, "What did I do?"

Atsushi just blankly stared at the man before he said, "You--  You are an idiot."
