He continues to hit the bag as it rips slightly, the Captain remembering the moments before he crashed to his death in 1945. Between the flashes of images that felt like they happened only a few days ago.... one catches his eye. He knew it was time. To crash the plane with the bombs on board and to save New York. He eyes the compass placed on the dashboard of the aircraft, a photograph of Peggy Carter.
"You won't be alone..." She had confidently stated.
This fills Steve with more rage, more pent-up emotion, and he hits harder - the chain holding the bag rattling eerily. The Man Out of Time swings at the punching bag relentlessly, each throw more powerful than the last, and at this point - he believes that he physically cannot stop. He recalls a final memory, the day he was found... and his blue eyes painfully squeeze themselves shut.
A somewhat frozen Steve Rogers lies unconscious on a S.H.I.E.L.D. Scientist's table at Antarctica Day.
"Oh my god!" a S.H.I.E.L.D Scientist exclaims, checking the man's vitals.
With their high-tech devices, they come to the conclusion that―
"This guy is still alive!"
The punching bag tears open, leaking sand from the middle.
The blonde Soldier stands up straight, letting out a few heavy breaths, and with each one - he is letting out over 70 years of repressed emotions because those times were sadly taken from him.
