She nodded before saying, "I was involved in an accident when I was younger, and he helped me out of some trouble.  Nothing more than a man worried about a teenager."

He nodded before saying, "So were you—"

She brought her free hand to his lips and said, "Don't get hasty, it's my turn to ask a question."

His eyes widened and amusement showed on his face at the woman's words.  He nodded his head and said, "Ask away, milady."

"Why did you end up working for the Agency when you were an executive at the Port Mafia?  Better yet, HOW did you end up getting Yukichi to agree to let you in?"

Dazai smiles before saying, "According to your rules I can only answer one of those!  So I'll say that a certain someone dear to me was killed, but before they died they told me that being good is more beautiful than killing.  I'd have to agree with them now though.  So, I left the Mafia since they were part of the reason he was killed, and I ended up at the Agency."

[Y/n] smiled softly at the man's answer before sighing in relief and saying, "That's sad to hear.  But honestly, I thought you might have had a hidden agenda or something for being at the Agency...  If that were the case...

...I'd have to kill you."

Dazai's eyes widened a bit before he said, "Oh, you're too cute to threaten someone!  It seems my past is what's made you wary of me!  Sorry, you seemed to have seen more of my dark past than my bright present!  I assure you I'm no threat to anyone anymore.  How did you dig up my past when it was wiped by the Gifted Special Ops Unit?

"Easy, if there is any digital footprint anywhere my ability will find it.  It doesn't matter if it was deleted, it's saved in the database, and I can find it if I have prior access to the servers before they're deleted.   Now, are you cold by any chance?  Can I have your jacket?"

She used her free arm to try to warm up her body.  Dazai smirked before slipping his arm from hers while taking his coat off.  He draped it over her shoulders before saying, "You seem to like my coat.  Snuggling it close while sleeping earlier, asking for it now, I'll just have to get you your own coat won't I?  Just like a mentor should!  My next question for you is how bad did it hurt?"

She raised an eyebrow and asked, "How bad was what? If you say when you fell from heaven, I'm going to leave right now."

The pair burst out laughing before he said, "No-no-no, the accident.   I believe the article you were looking at before you fell asleep was about you, was it not?   I don't mean to pry, I'm just a little curious.  Just how bad were you hurt that day?"

She smiled softly before looking at the ground and slightly tensing. He could feel her tense on his arm before she said, "It was bad... really, really bad.   Physically I'd broke I think three ribs, my right arm, and my left ankle.  I had some internal bleeding as well and a lot of surface bruises...  Mentally though...  I'd believed that I was to blame for everything that happened that night for the longest time."

Dazai didn't miss that the playful smile which decorated her soft features was replaced by a soft and bleak grin.  "But, Yukichi came along and helped me a lot.  Then, since I was a minor and I had let slip I wasn't on the best terms with my orphanage, he adopted me.  Eventually, I passed the entrance exam to join the agency, but under the condition, I don't have to fight ever again."

Dazai already has his next question ready.  She'd revealed something that he'd like to know about and he wasn't going to let this opportunity slip from his grasp.

"Okay! Now ask me a question, (Y/n)-chan!"

Shewas pulled from the thoughts of her past as she brought her free hand to her chin and said, "Hmm, well then, I guess I'd like to know how you and Atsushi met."
