I felt a bit more relaxed once Perkins was gone. So I absorbed myself in looking around. The bullets were from two different types. One was one that was definitely police issue. The other must have been one the deviants snuck in. "We ask that you recognize our dignity, our hopes, and our rights." I turned to the screen. Watching it as it spoke. "Together, we can live in peace and build a better future, for humans and androids. This message is the hope of a people. You gave us life. And now the time has come for you to give us freedom."
Staring down at my hand I couldn't help but think about my father. We bounced the possibility of androids becoming self-aware years back. At the time... it didn't seem like a bad thing, it doesn't now... just seems a little dangerous. Rubbing my eyes I continued my search of the area. There was a hat probably used in the androids disguises.
And some blue blood along the wall. It was heading for the roof. I was going to head up, but no one else was in the room for me to ask. Hank was already heading back to the hall. After a second of contemplation I decided to see what was up. I was slightly confused as to why Hank was the only one here. So I walked over, with my head low.
I still couldn't look him in the eye. "Lieutenant... where is Connor?" He looked back to me, there was an obvious frown on his face.
Taking a breath he spoke. "He went to the kitchen. Probably trying to integrate the androids to see what he can find." I gave a slight nod. "We should talk about what happened last night." I turned slightly thinking I'd heard something but I wasn't certain. "Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that in front of you."
My brow furrowed as one of the station androids walked past. "What do you mean 'not done that in front of me?!" You shouldn't have done it at all Hank. Connor didn't do anything to warrant such behavior." I paused, wait... station android. Why was it here? "We will continue this conversation later." I turned to the android that was making its way to the door.
Why was it not in the kitchen with the rest of them? "Hey, (Y/n), what the fuck are you doing? Get back here. I'm not done talking to you yet." Hank grabbed my arm just as Connor came running in. His white button up was covered in blue blood.
My eyes widened just seeing him. "It's a deviant! Stop it!" I turned back just in time to see the deviant pull one of the guns and knock the carrier back. The gun swung around and pointed itself at me next. It was like time moved in slow motion. My body was grabbed and forced to the ground. Gunshots rang out as I hit the floor.
It was a few seconds before the gunshots stopped. Hank pushed Connor off of me as I looked at my surroundings. There were people shot around me. "Good thing, Co-" He stopped, lifting me to my feet and pulling me back. I wanted to know why and started to turn as well. No, don't lo-"
Blue... there were bullets in a line on his back and they were leaking blue. My knees gave out making Hank drop me. "C-Connor?" I reached out a hand rolling him onto his back. His eyes were closed and the LED was dead. "Connor? This isn't funny... wake up." I shook him. Hank's hand landed on my shoulder. I brushed it off of me. "Don't touch me!"
I couldn't breathe and the only thing I could think of was trying to wake Connor up. He couldn't turn out like Rayna. Tears ran down my face as I looked at my hands. It was happening again, the death of someone I was just starting to get to know. His blood on my hands. Chris pulled me to my feet, I just screamed at him to let me go. He didn't, instead he pulled me straight into the elevator. "(Y/n), you need to go. We'll handle this." I pulled at his arm, trying to get free.
No, not again. "No, I'm not leaving again. Connor! Connor answer me! Get up, please." Hands wrapped themselves around my waist. Pulling me into the Elevator and keeping me there as Chris backed away. I turned and used my hands to push against their chest. My eyes squeezed shut as they grunted.
